  • Patent number: 6050303
Abstract: A method for enhancing the weaving of a warp yarn fabric having a high modulus of elasticity in which a sheet of parallel warp yarns is continuously unwound from a beam. The sheet is fed over a whip roll and a shed is formed using healds, the shed being defined in the forward direction of the warp by a shed opening point on an inlet side and a fell point on an opposite side. A weft yarn is inserted into the shed to form a resulting fabric which is evenly pulled and wound. The warp yarns are sufficiently heated in an area adjacent to the shed opening point to cause a local reduction in the modulus of elasticity of the warp yarns. Subsequently, the warp yarns are cooled in the shed before reaching the healds.

  • Patent number: 5377509
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for transfer printing a design on warp yarns in a warp and weft fabric by applying a roll of transfer paper carrying a dye design to a moving web of warp yarns. The speed of the web and paper are controlled and heat is applied to transfer the design to the warp yarns. The paper and completed cloth are then rewound.

  • Patent number: 5027988
Abstract: A process for the production of a pleated textile fabric, which comprises first forming a spiral tube from a plane fabric by joining together the two selvedges of said fabric; then in known manner pleating this spiral tube and fixing the pleats thus formed; and finally undoing the join connecting the two selvedges of the fabric. The invention relates also to a weft and warp woven pleated fabric wherein the pleats are disposed on the bias and the weft threads are inclined.

  • Patent number: 4725486
Abstract: A fabric having three dimensional relief is disclosed. The relief includes a succession of non-crepe like raised patterns in the forms of diamonds and diamond tips. The raised patterns are disposed in several directions both in warp and in weft. The dimensions of the patterns are variable along the warp and the fabric is waved in the weft direction.

  • Patent number: 4660261
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for giving relief in several directions to a textile cloth, characterized in that it consists:in known manner, in winding this cloth on a support tube, then in withdrawing said tube, thereafter in compressing the roll longitudinally along the axis of said support, finally, in fixing the roll thus compressed. The invention is more particularly applicable to fabric for home furnishings or clothes.
