Abstract: A support device and components thereof can include a stepping cover attached a support frame. The support device has a length that is shorter than the length of a side of the vehicle between the front and rear wheel wells to facilitate access to a single vehicle door of a multiple door vehicle, such as a rear passenger door of a four-door vehicle. The support frame of the support device may be configured to be mounted to the underbody of the vehicle, and the stepping cover is configured to provide a stepping surface for the passenger to use the support device.
Abstract: Systems and methods for producing vehicle components or components for use with vehicles or in other non-vehicle applications allow an end user to select and produce at a local job site, or optionally elsewhere as desired. The system and method can allow a manufacturer or designer to send a design for a component to a consumer for the consumer to produce. The consumer can then use one of a variety of methods, such as three dimensional printing or machining, to produce the component. The consumer can produce a component from a stock data file or can customize the component before production.
Abstract: A modular support system for a vehicle with multi-component support structures that include a pair of side supports, a pair of base supports, and a horizontal support suspended between the pair of side supports. Each side support can include a vertical portion, a base portion extending from the vertical portion and coupled, directly or indirectly, to the base support.
Abstract: A support device having an elongated support member for providing protection to an underside of a vehicle. The vehicle can have one or more pinch welds, such as a vehicle with a unibody chassis. The support device can serve as a rock rail to distribute a point load from an external object, such as a rock or a boulder, to a larger area of the vehicle to minimize high loading forces to a single point. The support device can alternatively be a running board.
