Abstract: A system for cooling computing devices within a facility includes an air inlet that delivers cool air to a supply air space within the facility, an exhaust air damper that is configured to exhaust heated air from an exhaust air space within the facility, and computing devices that are arranged within the facility to at least partially partition the supply air space from the exhaust air space. The system also includes an air filter that is configured to filter the cool air and a mixing damper that is positioned within the interior space of the facility and that is operable to control an amount of exhaust air that is mixed with the cool air. The cool air and/or a portion of the exhaust air are used to cool the computing devices and airflow through the system is substantially driven by fans of the computing devices.

Abstract: A noncontact support platform includes pressure ports distributed on a surface of a table, each connected to a pressure source. Vacuum ports are distributed on the surface of the table, each connected to a vacuum source. Outward flow through the pressure ports and inward flow through the vacuum ports form a fluid cushion to support a workpiece at a nonzero distance from the table. A plurality of channels each connect at least two of the vacuum ports to enable flow of fluid between the connected vacuum ports. When one of the connected vacuum ports is covered by an edge of the workpiece and the other is not, a suction force that is exerted by the connected vacuum ports on the edge is weaker than the suction force that is exerted on a part of the workpiece where both of the connected vacuum ports are covered.
Abstract: A system and method for automating management and repair of a plurality of computing devices located in a data center is disclosed. Health status queries are issued for one or more of the computing devices. If responses not indicative of good device health are received, one or more repair instructions are automatically sent to the unhealthy computing device to repair the computing device by moving it to an acceptable state. If the repair instructions are not successful, a support ticket is automatically generated for the corresponding computing device or devices. Problematic statuses across areas of the data center may be detected and ticketed in addition to individual problematic devices. So-called repeat offender devices may be detected and ticketed even if the repair instructions are successful.

Abstract: A thermal management system and method are presented for cooling an entity. The system comprises: a closed loop fluid flow line for flow of a coolant while being transferred in between its liquid and gas phases; at least one cooling zone located within the flow line and comprising at least one cooling interface; a vacuum generator unit operable for creating and maintaining vacuum condition at the cooling zone to thereby reduce evaporation temperature of the coolant located in the cooling zone; and a condensation zone spaced apart from the cooling interface downstream thereof with respect to a direction of the coolant flow from the cooling zone along the closed loop path wherein the coolant is condensed to liquid phase.
Abstract: Methods for forming a pipe end for a pipe having an inner surface lined with a liner are provided, wherein the pipe is cut at an axial location to provide a first end having an initial inner diameter defined by an inner surface of the pipe; and a length of the pipe is expanded from the first end to form an upset, bell end where an inner diameter of the upset, bell end is larger than the initial diameter, thereby defining an annulus between the inner surface of the pipe and the liner. A clamp for limiting a pipe's movement during various operations is also provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to assist in different forms of communication using messaging platforms such as email, text messaging, etc. For instance, an improved massaging platform is provided for creating better human to human communication and organization of messaging, as well as messaging involving machines. Human to human include, for example, emails, text messages, social media messages, or other forms of electronic communication from another human, which usually requires some sort of response back from another user. Aspects are provided herein for highlighting and distinguishing such forms of communication, and to provide interfaces and tools to organize and simplify such interactions.
Abstract: The present invention comprises methods and composition for control of plant pathogens. Isolated bacteria, deposited with ATCC under the Budapest Treaty, are effective to control plant pathogens.
Abstract: A memory management method is provided according to an exemplary embodiment of the disclosure. The method includes: receiving a plurality of commands from a host system; counting a newest idle time corresponding to the commands and a past average command-receiving-time-interval corresponding to the commands; and dynamically changing a work mode of a memory storage device from a first work mode to a second work mode if the newest idle time is larger than a first threshold value and the past average command-receiving-time-interval is larger than a second threshold value. Therefore, a power consumption of the memory storage device can be reduced and a work mode of the memory storage device may not be changed too frequently.
Abstract: The present invention comprises methods and compositions comprising a microalgae consortium. A composition comprises at least one genera of microalgae flocculated by Paenibacillus polymyxa strain, Strain 2, deposited under the Budapest Treaty as ATCC Accession No. PTA-12841. Methods of treating the soil comprise adding a composition of the present invention to soil.
Abstract: An air-impermeable water vapor transport membrane comprises an active layer on a microporous polymeric substrate. The active layer comprises a polyethylene-oxide containing copolymer and a polar protic solvent in an amount of about 3% to about 100% of copolymer weight in the active layer. Molecules of the protic solvent are bonded to the copolymer. The polar protic solvent reduces temperature-dependent variability in the water-vapor permeability of the membrane.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for compiling code for a multi-core processor, comprising: detecting and optimizing a loop, partitioning the loop into partitions executable and mappable on physical hardware with optimal instruction level parallelism, optimizing the loop iterations and/or loop counter for ideal mapping on hardware, chaining the loop partitions generating a list representing the execution sequence of the partitions.
Abstract: Mineral, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, agricultural, nutraceutical, and other compositions are produced using a mineral composition containing minimal concentrations of cadmium, lead, arsenic, and mercury and containing relatively high concentrations of micro and macro mineral elements, of rare earth elements, of calcium, and of silica. The mineral concentrations are produced by processing naturally occurring clay soil to concentrate mineral elements naturally occurring in the soil.
Abstract: A pipeline system is enclosed including unlined or plastic lined pipes. A mechanical metal to metal connection is employed that can provide a fluid tight seal. A pipe coupling may be employed to span the connection. Plastic lined pipes can have their plastic liners connected to form a fluid tight bladder. Electro fusion may be employed.
