Abstract: Lens systems for compact digital cameras having a pop-out state and a collapsed state, the lens systems comprising: an image sensor having a sensor diagonal SD, and a lens with N?6 lens elements L1-LN arranged along a lens optical axis (OA) starting with L1 from an object side toward an image side, each lens element Li having a respective clear aperture diameter DALi 1?i?N, and having in the pop-out state a field of view 35 deg<FOV<50 deg, a f number (f/#), a lens thickness TLens, a back focal length BFL, an effective focal length EFL, and a total track length TTL<20 mm, the lens having in the collapsed state a collapsed total track length c-TTL, wherein c-TTL=TLens+1 mm, wherein EFL?10 mm, wherein f/#<2, and wherein a ratio c-TTL/EFL<0.8.
Abstract: Folded digital cameras comprising a lens system with a lens and an image sensor, the lens having N?6 lens elements Li, an effective focal length (EFL) and a total track length (TTL), wherein each lens element has a respective focal length fi and wherein a first lens element L1 faces an object side, and an optical path folding element (OPFE) for providing a folded optical path between an object and the lens. In some embodiments, the lens system has a focusing range that covers object-lens distances from infinity to a minimal object distance (MIOD), wherein MIOD/EFL is smaller than 20 or even 7. In some embodiments, the ratio of a maximal chief ray angle to a field of view of the folded camera Max CRA/FOV is smaller than 0.25 or even 0.15 when the camera is focused at infinity.

Abstract: Dual-optical module autofocus (AF) or AF plus optical image stabilization (OIS) cameras with reduced footprint and reduced mutual magnetic interference. Some AF+OIS cameras may include a single AF actuation assembly that moves two lens barrels in unison. Some AF cameras or AF+OIS cameras may have two AF actuation sub-assemblies and associated magnets for independent AF operation of each lens barrel, the magnets shared in a manner that cancels magnetic influences of one AF actuation sub-assembly on the other AF actuation sub-assembly, thereby allowing the two lens barrels to be positioned in close proximity, saving parts and fabrication costs.
