Abstract: A method for producing preforms, by layup of fibers on a layup surface, comprising the application of a binder on at least one continuous flat dry fiber, comprising two opposite main faces, and the layup of the fiber provided with binder by means of a layup head in order to form a preform. The application of binder on a fiber is carried out by means of at least one fiberizing nozzle comprising a discharge orifice supplied with liquid or pasty binder, and one or several injection orifices supplied with pressurized gas, in such a way that said nozzle is able to deliver the binder in the form of a spiral filament, the spirals of filament being deposited on a first main face of the fiber running underneath the nozzle in order to obtain a fiber provided with filaments of binder.
Abstract: A machine for producing parts made of composite material, the machine comprising a fiber-application head comprising an application roller, a guide system for guiding one or more fibers, in the form of a strip, towards said application roller, and at least one cutting system comprising a blade capable of being maneuvered by a cutting cylinder between a rest position and an active position for cutting a fiber, each cutting system comprising a counter-blade that is elastically held against the blade by the cutting edge thereof for cutting by shearing a fiber while the blade moves from the rest position thereof to the active position thereof.
Abstract: A fiber application machine comprising a fiber application head, a displacing system to displace said fiber application head, fiber storage, and a fiber conveyor to convey the fibers from the fiber storage to the application head. The machine further comprises a safety system comprising at least one perimeter barrier defining a safety zone wherein the displacing system carrying the application head is placed, the fiber storage being arranged outside of said safety zone.
