Patents Assigned to Cormetech, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7776786
Abstract: The present invention provides monolithic structural catalysts. The catalysts have a high open frontal area structure and composition advantageous for use in high particulate matter environments such as coal-fired industrial applications. In an embodiment, the present invention provides a monolithic structural catalyst body comprising a high open frontal area structure and composition that can achieve an efficient selective reduction of nitrogen oxides while minimizing the oxidation of sulfur dioxide wherein the structure of the catalyst body is resistant to plugging by particulate matter.

  • Publication number: 20100192552
Abstract: An exhaust gas treatment catalyst for removal of one or more pollutants in an exhaust gas, the catalyst comprising: a SO3-reducing catalyst powder which removes the above-described pollutants; and a diluent powder which is not the SO3-reducing catalyst powder nor a catalyst for reactions between exhaust gas components and a reagent, wherein the SO3-reducing catalyst powder is dispersed in the diluent powder.

  • Patent number: 7658898
Abstract: The present invention provides compositions, systems, and methods for achieving high efficiencies of nitrogen oxide (NOx) removal from exhaust gases while minimizing ammonia slip and sulfur dioxide oxidation. In one embodiment, a method of removing nitrogen oxides from an exhaust gas comprises providing a first catalyst layer, adding an ammonia-containing compound to the exhaust gas upstream of the first catalyst layer in excess of the stoichiometric equivalent of the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas, flowing the exhaust gas through the first catalyst layer, selectively catalytically decomposing ammonia in excess of the stoichiometric reaction equivalent of the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas, and catalytically reducing the nitrogen oxides by reaction with ammonia not selectively catalytically decomposed.

  • Patent number: 7638039
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to catalysts and, in particular, relates to in-situ replacement of catalyst within a reactor. In an embodiment, the present invention comprises a method for the in-situ replacement of catalyst bodies in a catalytic reactor comprising removing catalyst bodies in-situ from at least one modularized section of a catalytic layer within a catalytic reactor and replacing the removed catalyst bodies in-situ with replacement bodies comprising catalytic function wherein at least 10% of the total catalyst bodies within the layer are replaced.
