Abstract: The present invention discloses cryopreserved recombinant cells for screening drug candidates that transiently overexpress one or more drug transporter proteins and/or drug metabolizing enzymes. Advantageously, such cells provide a cost-efficient consumable product that streamlines the process of screening whether drug candidates are substrates or inhibitors of drug transporter proteins and/or drug metabolizing enzymes.
Abstract: A method of reducing the amount propylene chlorohydrin produced in a reaction to make a hydroxypropylated/crosslinked starch comprising removing residual propylene oxide from alkaline slurry. The residual propylene oxide is removed by the dewatering the alkaline slurry or by washing the starch in slurry at a pH of around 10. The starch is then neutralized in an acid solution and recovered from the second slurry and may or may not be washed, depending on whether the slurry while at pH around 10 to make a hydroxypropylated/crosslinked starch having less than 1 ppm propylene chlorohydrin.

The gas permeable membrane comprises one or more of (i) a continuous or discontinuous thin film associated with each aperture, (ii) a locally-thinned portion of the main body, and (iii) a quantity of material at least partially filling each aperture.
Abstract: A gain control circuit in a wireless distribution system (WDS) is provided. The gain control circuit generates a combined digital communications signal based on a number of received radio frequency (RF) communications signals. The combined digital communications signal has a digital amplitude(s) representing a summed analog power level(s) of the RF communications signals in a predefined number of binary bits. When the summed analog power level(s) exceeds a maximum analog power level represented by the digital amplitude(s) in the predefined number of binary bits, the gain control circuit determines a selected RF communications signal(s) causing the summed analog power level to exceed the maximum analog power level and attenuates the selected RF communications signal(s) to reduce the summed analog power level to below the maximum analog power level. As such, it is possible to achieve a calculated balance between performance, complexity, and cost in the gain control circuit.
Abstract: A method of forming a glass article includes steps of: providing a glass substrate sheet, forming a first array of first damage regions, forming a second array of second damage regions which define a plurality of portions, wherein the second array of second damage regions define one or more interrupted zones. The interrupted zones may have a largest dimension of about 10 microns or greater. The method further includes steps of etching the glass substrate and singulating the plurality of portions from the glass substrate sheet.
