Abstract: A light fixture device and system for extending and retracting a light is set forth which includes a housing having an axis of extension and a carriage which is carried by the housing and adapted for axial movement relative to the housing. A direct current motor is coupled to a drive member for axially extending and retracting the carriage and a two-position limit switch having a directionally reversible actuator responsive to a tripping force and in electrical communication with the motor. The tripping force moves the two position limit switch from a first position to a second position when the carriage is extended and from the second position to the first position when the carriage is retracted. A circuit for extending and retracting the lighting system is comprised of a light detector circuit, a logic circuit, a timer circuit and a driver circuit.
