  • Patent number: 4959828
Abstract: A system for simultaneously transmitting a plurality of audio signals into a transmission space from at least one transmission point to one or more reception points. The plurality of audio signals is inputted to an encoder. The encoder time-division multiplexes and samples the audio signals to generate an encoded pulse amplitude modulated signal. The encoded pulse amplitude modulated signal is converted into a corresponding encoded pulse position modulated signal. A sync pulse is then added to the encoded pulse position modulated signal to form an encoded composite signal. The encoded composite signal is broadcast into the transmission space as an optical signal, preferably in the infrared portion of the spectrum. The optical signal is received by at least one receiver located in the transmission space. Each of the receivers receives the optical signal and generates a received pulse position modulated signal.

  • Patent number: 4367020
Abstract: A projection device comprising a film projector and a loop box for a continuous film in which the projector includes a sprocket for feeding the continuous loop of film through a film gate which may be of the customary type. The loop box comprises a frame having transversely and longitudinally spaced upper and lower shaft supports, a plurality of shafts journaled in each of said upper and lower shaft supports, a plurality of pulleys rotatably mounted on each of the shafts by means of ball bearings and means to drive each shaft in the direction which the rollers mounted thereon move when the film loop is advanced through the film gate by the drive sprocket.

  • Patent number: 3973840
Abstract: A mannequin comprising a head part and a torso part adjustably joined together. In the torso part a sound moving picture projector is mounted to project facial images on a film in a light beam upwardly through the neck into the head as the film is moved through the projector. Simultaneously sound from a track on the film is picked up, amplified and audibly reproduced. The sound and facial images are correlated to simulate a speaking person. The head part has a face piece with well defined forehead, nose, cheeks and chin but only smooth areas for eyes and mouth which is molded of transparent plastic and surface coated as a rear projection screen. Means in the head receive the light beam from the projector and transmit onto the rear projection screen so that the projected facial features correspond in location to the facial features on the face piece.
