Abstract: An example method facilitates Global Traffic Management (GTM) and associated selective distribution of computing loads and/or network traffic among different geographically distributed data centers of a particular domain by allocating the servicing of request messages from Local Domain Name Servers (LDNSs) to data centers that are estimated to provide the quickest response times to the LDNSs. Estimates of path latencies or Round Trip Times (RTTs) between the LDNSs and the different distributed data centers are estimated using DNS reflection methodologies and are maintained in a database that may be accessed and collectively managed via the data centers, e.g., via use of a web service that fronts the database. Locations of the LDNSs approximate locations of client devices seeking access to the domain.

Abstract: A copolymer including ethylene units and units of one or more C3-10 alpha-olefins. The copolymer has a number average molecular weight of less than 5,000 g/mol, as measured by GPC. The ethylene unit content of the copolymer is less than 80 mol %. 70 mol % or greater of the copolymer has a carbon-carbon double bond in a terminal monomer unit, and at least 70 mol % of the terminal unsaturation is vinylidene, one or more tri-substituted isomers of the vinylidene or any combination thereof. The copolymer has a crossover temperature of ?20° C. or lower and/or a certain average ethylene run length. Also disclosed are a method for making the copolymer and polyolefins plasticized with 1-40 wt. % of the copolymer. The copolymers may low metal (ash) and/or fluorine contents.

The system comprises a controller configured to: generate a resource transfer contract for transferring a resource from a first user device to a second user device, wherein the resource transfer contract comprises a distributed protocol defining a sequential flow of one or more trigger events for triggering a transfer of the resource; distribute the resource transfer contract to the first user device and the second user device; determine that the one or more triggering events have been completed by one or more of the first user and the second user based on communication with the first user device and the second user device; and in response to determining that the one or more triggering events have been completed, transfer the resource to the second user device.

Abstract: System that facilitates rapid onboarding of an autonomous (cashier-less) store by capturing images of the store's items from multiple angles, with varying background colors, and that builds a classifier training dataset from these images. Background surfaces may for example be coated with retroreflective tape or film, and variable-color incident light sources may generate the desired background colors. Embodiments may automatically rotate or otherwise reorient the item placed in the onboarding system, so that a relatively small number of cameras can capture views from multiple angles. When an item is placed in the system, a fully automated process may generate a sequence of item orientations and background colors, and may capture and process images from the cameras to create training images. Images of the item from multiple angles, under varying lighting conditions, may be captured without requiring an operator to move or reorient the item.

Abstract: An apparatus includes a vehicle control system (VCS) coupled to a computer of a vehicle via a CAN bus and configured to present selectively appearance of a presence in the vehicle of a smartkey, e.g., by energizing and de-energizing an actual smartkey of the vehicle. The VCS includes a VCS and a Bluetooth® VCS transceiver. The VCS stores VCS software. The apparatus also includes a smartphone with a Bluetooth® transceiver, and storing an app. The mobile device is paired with the VCS to communicate with the VCS via a Bluetooth® link. The app configures the smartphone to receive menu selections from a user, to generate communications that identity smartkey-enabled features of the VCS that correspond to the selections, and to send to the VCS the communications through the link. The VCS software configures the VCS to receive the communications and cause the vehicle to perform actions corresponding to live communications.

The recommended-to-be-examined element recognition section displays a model of the item group by highlighting the element for which the manufacturing condition is recommended to be examined for changes.

Abstract: A wireless earphone that comprises a transceiver circuit for receiving streaming audio from a data source over a local ad hoc wireless network. When the data source and the earphone are out of range, they transition automatically to an infrastructure wireless network. If there is no common infrastructure wireless network for both the data source and the speakerphone set, the earphone connects to a host server via an available wireless network.

Abstract: A thermoplastic elastomer compound includes a polyolefin elastomer blend of at least two different polyolefin elastomers, styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene block copolymer, and plasticizer. The compound has a Melt Flow Rate (230° C., 2.16 kg) of no less than about 5 g/10 min and a Melt Flow Rate (190° C., 2.16 kg) of no less than about 1 g/10 min. Elastomeric films formed from the compound can be used in place of elastomeric films based on styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) block copolymers to make components of disposable hygiene articles.
