  • Patent number: 9370836
Abstract: An electric discharge machine performs a hole machining on a workpiece by applying a voltage between an electrode and the workpiece to generate an electric discharge therebetween and moving the electrode to a position of a command depth. The electric discharge machine comprises: a storage unit; a current-coordinate detection unit; an electric-discharge-voltage detection unit a penetration detection unit; and a calculation unit. The storage unit stores therein a penetration determination voltage, a penetration determining duration, and a first projecting amount. The current-coordinate detection unit detects a current position of the electrode. The electric-discharge-voltage detection unit detects a minimum voltage of the electric discharge for each predetermined period. The penetration detection unit determines the electrode has penetrated through the workpiece.

  • Patent number: 9374652
Abstract: A plurality of acoustic sensors in a non-anechoic environment are calibrated with the aim of removing manufacturing tolerances and degradation over time but preserving position-dependent differences between the sensors, The sensors are excited by an acoustic stimulus which has either time-dependent characteristics or finite duration. The calibration is to be based on diffuse-field excitation only, in which indirect propagation (including single or multiple reflections) dominate over any direct-path excitation. For this purpose, the calibration process considers only a non-initial portion of sensor outputs and/or of an impulse response derived there-from. Based on these data, a frequency-dependent magnitude response function is estimated and compared with a target response function, from which a calibration function is derived.

  • Patent number: 9374863
Abstract: A LED lamp has LED groups, a path controller, a power bank, and a bank controller. The LED groups are arranged in series between a rectified input voltage and a ground voltage. The path controller controls path switches, each path switch for coupling a corresponding LED group to the ground voltage. The power bank is coupled between the rectified input voltage and the ground voltage, having a capacitor and a discharge switch. The capacitor is configured to be charged when the rectified input voltage exceeds a capacitor voltage of the capacitor. The discharge switch is connected between the capacitor and the rectified input voltage. The bank controller determines a connection period and controls the discharge switch in response to a signal turning ON one of path switches, in order to make the capacitor capable of being discharged to the rectified input voltage during the connection period.

  • Patent number: 9372096
Abstract: An electronic apparatus refers to location measurement information measured in the past at each time when the latest location measurement information is output from a location measurement module with a predetermined measurement period, if measurement accuracy is good and it is regarded that a direction change has been made, determines the latest location measurement information as saving “necessary” and stores the information. If the measurement accuracy is no good or it is regarded that a positioning point shown by the latest location measurement information is an intermediate point during linear traveling, the latest location measurement information is not saved. Therefore, a data size to be saved is made smaller than that in related art and draining of a battery taken for writing of data is reduced.

  • Patent number: 9372781
Abstract: In response to identification of an error in operation of a system, a debugging module determines where to set a debug entry point for a program subset debug session. An initial file state is captured for at least one file accessed by the system in response to initiation of a subsequent execution of the system. Prior to detection of execution of the system at the debug entry point, any file inputs and file outputs (I/Os) detected during the subsequent execution of the system are queued. Debug entry point metadata, including the captured initial at least one file state, the queued file I/Os, and an image of all instantiated objects at the debug entry point, is stored in response to detection of execution of the system at the debug entry point.

  • Patent number: 9372974
Abstract: A method for determining if a user of a computer system is a human. A processor receives an indication that a computer security program is needed and acquires at least one image depicting a first string of characters including at least a first and second set of one or more characters. A processor assigns a substitute character to be used as input for each of the second set of one or more characters. A processor presents the at least one image and an indication of the substitute character and when to use the substitute character to the user. A processor receives a second string of characters from the user. A processor determines whether the second string of characters substantially matches the first string of characters based on the substitute character assigned to each of the second set of one or more characters and determines whether the user is a human.
