  • Patent number: 9288689
Abstract: Techniques for configuring a wireless network cloud system comprise the following steps. A density metric is estimated corresponding to at least one given coverage area of a wireless network cloud system. A configuration is determined for one or more network-access components in the given coverage area of the wireless network cloud system in response to the estimated density metric. The determined configuration may then be applied to the one or more network-access components. The density metric may correspond to a user density and/or a traffic density in the given coverage area.

  • Patent number: 9286169
Abstract: An SVC cluster manages a plurality of storage devices and includes a plurality of SVCs interconnected via a network, each SVC acting as a separate node. A new configuration node is activated in response to configuration node failures. The new configuration node retrieves client subscription information about events occurring in storage devices managed by the SVC cluster from the storage devices. In response to events occurring in the storage device managed by the SVC cluster, the new configuration node obtains storage device event information from a storage device event monitoring unit. The new configuration node sends storage device events to clients who have subscribed to this information according to subscription information obtained. The storage device is not installed in the original configuration node.

  • Patent number: 9286137
Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for detecting a time critical code section associated with a real time processor core and suspending execution on a suspendable processor core in response to the time critical code section. Additionally, execution on the suspendable core may be resumed when the real time processor core reaches the end of the time critical code section. In one example, execution is suspended by issuing an inter-processor interrupt (IPI) from the real time core to the suspendable core, wherein execution may be resumed when the real time core conducts a write to a memory location that is monitored by the suspendable core during suspension of execution.

  • Patent number: 9287835
Abstract: A low quiescent current amplifier and driver having multiple amplifiers (e.g. Class AB and B amplifiers) work in concert to independently amplify all or a portion of a signal into multiple amplified signals combined into a unified signal. Operation of a second amplifier is slaved to operation of a first amplifier. Each amplifier may have its own feedback loop providing the same gain transfer function to align transitions of the multiple amplified signals. Operation of the first amplifier may be detected using a replica of a signal, stage or transconductance in the first amplifier. At the same threshold, operation of the first and second amplifiers may be transitioned, e.g., the second amplifier may transition between providing increasing or decreasing current and providing zero current while the first amplifier may transition between providing constant current and providing increasing or decreasing current.

  • Patent number: 9285994
Abstract: A method for migrating data in a tiered storage architecture is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes tracking the temperature of data blocks in a tiered storage architecture, where the temperature indicates the frequency the data blocks are accessed. Heat maps are generated that indicate the temperature of the data blocks across different time intervals. These heat maps are compared to identify temperature patterns that may occur over time. The temperature patterns, in turn, may be used to predict when selected data blocks will change in temperature. Data blocks may be migrated between tiers of the tiered storage architecture in anticipation of the predicated changes in temperature. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.
