  • Patent number: 8901448
Abstract: An electric discharge machine includes a machining power supply for applying a voltage to a machining gap between a machining electrode and its opposite workpiece and detecting a contact between the machining electrode and the workpiece. The machining power supply includes a first power supply circuit whose output voltage is equal to or less than an arc voltage, a second power supply circuit for supplying a pulse current to the machining gap, and a control unit. When the first power supply circuit detects a contact between the machining electrode and the workpiece, the control unit operates to supply a pulse current from the second power supply circuit to the machining gap while the machining electrode and the workpiece are in contact with each other.

  • Patent number: 8900034
Abstract: A control unit that relatively moves a headstock and tailstock and a tool to thereby machine a peripheral surface of a workpiece in a radial direction executes control such that a relative feed speed of the tool in the radial direction in a transitional state where an amount of warpage of the workpiece in the radial direction at a machining position increases is faster than a relative feed speed of the tool in the radial direction in a steady state where an amount of warpage of the workpiece in the radial direction at the machining position is constant. By so doing, it is possible to reduce a machining time at the time of the start of machining.

  • Patent number: 8901713
Abstract: A structure is provided in which the back gate regions are physically separated from one another as opposed to using reversed biased pn junction diodes. In the present disclosure, the back gate regions can be formed first through a buried dielectric material of an extremely thin semiconductor-on-insulator (ETSOI) substrate. After dopant activation, standard device fabrication processes can be performed. A semiconductor base layer portion of the ETSOI substrate can then be removed from the original ETSOI to expose a surface of the back gates.

  • Publication number: 20140346346
Abstract: The present invention uses an AC voltage instead of DC voltage on an ion gate to filter/selectively pass ions. The ions that pass through the AC ion gate can be further separated in a spectrometric instrument. An ion mobility spectrometer using the AC ion gate can achieve better gating performance. For a time of flight ion mobility spectrometer with an AC ion gate, a narrow pulse of selected ions can be passed into a drift tube where they are separated based on their low field ion mobility. Moreover, when the AC voltage at the AC ion gate has a waveform as used for differential ion mobility spectrometry, the time of flight ion mobility spectrometer is converted into a two dimensional separation spectrometer, where ions are first separated based on their high field ion mobility and then further separated based on their low field ion mobility.

Abstract: To stably remove a resin body formed in a supply route of a resin in a sealing step. A leadframe has, in a sub-runner portion thereof, a sub-through-hole. The sub-through-hole has, along a first direction along which the sub-runner portion extends, a first portion located on the side of a main-runner portion and a second portion located on the side of a gate portion relative to the first portion. In a plan view, an opening width of the sub-through-hole in the first direction is greater than that of the sub-through-hole in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. In a plan view, an opening width of the sub-through-hole in the second direction gradually decreases from the first portion to an end portion of the second portion on the side of the gate portion.
