Abstract: An ion trap is provided between a collision cell and a time-of-flight mass separator. During a time period in which precursor ions derived from the same compound are selected with a quadrupole mass filter, a collision energy is changed from one to another. Various product ions that are produced by dissociation respectively under collision energies of the plurality of stages and precursor ions that are not dissociated are temporarily trapped in the ion trap, and are ejected in a packet form in the state where these ions are mixed, and are introduced into the time-of-flight mass separator 6 to be subjected to a mass spectrometry. Thereby, in a data processing unit, one MS/MS spectrum in which product ions produced in various dissociation modes under various CID conditions appear is created.
Abstract: A clamping apparatus and method for maintaining a workpiece flatness during processing includes a base having a planar surface for receiving a first workpiece. Two sets of opposing clamping mechanisms are mounted to the base and include a clamp head at a distal end of a rod extending from a housing in removable overlapping relation to the first workpiece. Each set of the clamp heads are in opposing spaced relationship to each other defining a second workpiece area, and the clamp heads are configured to mate with a top surface of the first workpiece. A biasing member is coupled to each of the housings and apply a downward vertical force to the housings, rods, and the clamp heads for applying a downward vertical pressure to the first workpiece. The first workpiece is thereby discouraged from thermally expanding in a vertical direction and is thermally expandable horizontally along the planar surface.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, an approach is provided in which a processor selects a page of data that is compressed by a first compression algorithm and stored in a memory block. The processor identifies a utilization amount of the compressed page of data and determines whether the utilization amount meets a utilization threshold. When the utilization amount fails to meet the utilization threshold, the processor uses a second compression algorithm to recompresses the page of data.

Abstract: A development system is described for facilitating the development of a spoken natural language (SNL) interface. The development system receives seed templates from a developer, each of which provides a command phrasing that can be used to invoke a function, when spoken by an end user. The development system then uses one or more development resources, such as a crowdsourcing system and a paraphrasing system, to provide additional templates. This yields an extended set of templates. A generation system then generates one or more models based on the extended set of templates. A user device may install the model(s) for use in interpreting commands spoken by an end user. When the user device recognizes a command, it may automatically invoke a function associated with that command. Overall, the development system provides an easy-to-use tool for producing an SNL interface.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention may provide a personalized fit prediction to a particular consumer about a particular product. Personalization of the fit prediction may be accomplished by processing various types of data, including data about consumers, products, and previous purchases by consumers. For example, this data may be used to generate a model (e.g., set of rules), which can then be applied to predict whether and/or how well a particular product will suit a particular consumer.

Abstract: A non-deterministic finite state machine module for use in a regular expression matching system. The system includes a computational unit implementing a non-deterministic finite state machine representing a regular expression, wherein the computational unit is configured to: receive an input data stream, wherein an occurrence of the regular expression is determined, and an activation signal; process the input data stream with respect to the non-deterministic finite state machine depending on the activation signal; and provide at least one branch data output for initializing an additional non-deterministic finite state machine module if the processing of an element of the input data stream according to the non-deterministic finite state machine results in a branching of a processing thread.

Abstract: An apparatus for enabling user control of a fallback capability for circuit switched domain support may include a processor and a memory. The memory may store executable instructions that in response to execution by the processor cause the apparatus to receive a service indication for a service related to a radio access technology not supported by a current serving domain, determine, based on previously stored user defined input, a response to the service indication with respect to conducting a fallback procedure to a radio access technology that supports the service, and execute the response based on a result of the determining.

Abstract: A data processing system includes host data processors, a data storage system including data storage shared among the host data processors, and a data switch coupling the host data processors to the data storage system. The data storage system has host adapter ports coupled to the data switch. The data switch is programmed for distributing block I/O requests from the host data processors over the operable host adapter ports for load balancing of the block I/O requests among the operable host adapter ports. The shared data storage can be a file system striped across RAID sets of disk drives for load balancing upon disk director ports of the data storage system. The data processing system can be expanded by adding more data storage systems, switches for the additional data storage systems, and switches for routing block I/O requests from the host processors to the data storage systems.

Abstract: Content search involves receiving a user-formulated search query via a user device. The search query is submitted to two or more search domains. The search domains represent separate data repositories accessible via the user device. Results objects are received from the two or more search domains in response to the search query. The results objects are ranked using different ranking criterion by the respective search domains from which the search results were received. A rank value for each of the results objects is determined based on a single ranking criterion. The results objects are ordered based at least in part on the rank values determined using the single ranking criterion and sent for display in a user interface of the user device.
