  • Patent number: 8516165
Abstract: A computer system that employs Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCIe) links includes devices that generate a PCIe packet having a header portion that is smaller than the header portion for a conventional PCI packet. The devices may be an endpoint device, such as a graphics processor, and a chipset, such as a root-complex. The reduced size header improves the bus throughput efficiency of the computer system and reduces power requirements for the computer system.

  • Patent number: 8513813
Abstract: A microelectronic element having a memory storage array has a front face facing away from a substrate of a microelectronic package, and is electrically connected with the substrate through conductive structure extending above the front face. First terminals are disposed at locations within first and second parallel grids of the package. The first terminals of each grid are configured to carry address information usable to determine an addressable memory location from among all the available addressable memory locations of the memory storage array. The first terminals in the first grid have signal assignments which are a mirror image of the signal assignments of the first terminals in the second grid.

  • Patent number: 8514366
Abstract: An exposure method includes holding a substrate held by a substrate holder on a substrate stage moving on an image plane side of a projection optical system; forming an immersion area the image plane side of the projection optical system by using a liquid supplied from a liquid supplying mechanism; and exposing a substrate by exposure light via the projection optical system and the immersion area. During a period when exposure of the substrate is not performed, an upper portion of the substrate holder is cleaned by moving the substrate stage relative to the immersion area, and an upper portion of a measuring stage is cleaned by moving the measuring stage relative to the immersion area. A cleaning liquid can be used as a liquid for forming the immersion area during cleaning. High-resolution immersion exposure is performed at a high throughput by suppressing entering of foreign materials into the liquid.

  • Patent number: 8515911
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for organizing a plurality of versions of a file in a file system. The plurality of versions of the file are stored in a data structure having a hierarchical organization that reflects relationships among the plurality of versions. Each version of the plurality of versions is assigned a name that identifies its position in the hierarchical organization. The hierarchical organization of the data structure and the descriptive naming convention used for the plurality of versions in the data structure facilitates deleting a version while retaining other versions derived from the version following the deletion of the version, and enables a staged initialization of the data structure upon system start-up.

  • Patent number: 8516448
Abstract: A solution is proposed for metering the usage of Java programs. For this purpose, each Java program to be metered is associated with a fingerprint defined by a reference sequence of classes that must be loaded for its execution. The sequence of classes that are actually loaded by the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is monitored, for example, by means of a wrapper for a class loader of the JVM. The sequence of loaded classes is then used to identify the Java program in execution (which fingerprint matches this sequence of loaded classes).

  • Patent number: 8515054
Abstract: A signal processing system which discriminates between voice signals and data signals modulated by a voiceband carrier. The signal processing system includes a voice exchange, a data exchange and a call discriminator. The voice exchange is capable of exchanging voice signals between a switched circuit network and a packet based network. The signal processing system also includes a data exchange capable of exchanging data signals modulated by a voiceband carrier on the switched circuit network with unmodulated data signal packets on the packet based network. The data exchange is performed by demodulating data signals from the switched circuit network for transmission on the packet based network, and modulating data signal packets from the packet based network for transmission on the switched circuit network. The call discriminator is used to selectively enable the voice exchange and data exchange.

  • Patent number: 8512378
Abstract: A bone anchor is described having pre-attached suture material. After insertion, lateral wings can be deployed on the bone anchor to prevent anchor pull-out. The suture may be attached at the tip of the anchor by tying it to a wire hook secured in a cavity in the anchor tip. The anchor may be inserted and deployed using an anchor inserter that is configured to apply an axial force to the anchor, thereby deforming the anchor to form the lateral wings.

  • Patent number: 8510918
Abstract: A two-piece cable tie for bundling a plurality of objects, such as cables or wires, includes a front portion that is insert-molded onto a connective segment of a flexible strap, the front portion being constructed out of a higher tensile strength plastic than the strap to maximize the load rating of the tie without significantly increasing material costs. In one embodiment, the connective segment of the strap is shaped to include a pair of opposing semi-circular cutouts in its side rails to enhance the strength of mechanical bonding achieved by the front portion around the strap. In addition, the connective segment is shaped to include a circular hole that is offset longitudinally from the opposing cutouts, the diameter of the circular opening not exceeding 40% of the maximum width of the strap to ensure the integrity and strength of the strap along the entirety of its length.
