Abstract: A system and method for easing the installation and removal of a desiccant rotor from an air handling system. The system and method enabling the installation of a shaft through the center of a rotor, the shaft having a first end portion protruding from the first axial face and a second end portion protruding from the second axial face, supporting the shaft and the rotor with a first support rail and a second support rail, the first and second support rails being positioned on opposite axial sides of the rotor and extending radially outward from a radial center of the rotor in an installed position, placing at least one keeper mechanism on each of the first and second support rails to secure the rotor in the installed position, and removing the at least one keeper mechanism to allow translational movement of the rotor along the first and second support rails.

Abstract: The invention provides novel polypeptides having phospholipase activity, including, e.g., phospholipase A, B, C and D activity, patatin activity, phosphatidic acid phosphatases (PAP)) and/or lipid acyl hydrolase (LAH) activity, nucleic acids encoding them and antibodies that bind to them. Industrial methods, e.g., oil degumming, and products comprising use of these phospholipases are also provided.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide methods, systems, and computer program products that enable secure network communications with logical partitions. A gateway between a physical network adapter and at least one virtual network trunk adapter receives a packet. The gateway tags the packet with an indication of an origin of the packet. The gateway delivers the tagged packet to an intrusion prevention system for intrusion analysis. When the gateway receives the tagged packet from the intrusion prevention system, the gateway forwards the tagged packet according to the indication of origin of the tagged packet.

Abstract: A mixed time-domain/frequency-domain coding device and method for coding an input sound signal, wherein a time-domain excitation contribution is calculated in response to the input sound signal. A cut-off frequency for the time-domain excitation contribution is also calculated in response to the input sound signal, and a frequency extent of the time-domain excitation contribution is adjusted in relation to this cut-off frequency. Following calculation of a frequency-domain excitation contribution in response to the input sound signal, the adjusted time-domain excitation contribution and the frequency-domain excitation contribution are added to form a mixed time-domain/frequency-domain excitation constituting a coded version of the input sound signal. In the calculation of the time-domain excitation contribution, the input sound signal may be processed in successive frames of the input sound signal and a number of sub-frames to be used in a current frame may be calculated.

Abstract: A data recording and reproducing configuration in which both of BDMV standard compliant data and BDMV standard non-compliant data can be used is realized. A plurality of directories are set in a recording media, and a recording destination directory is selected according to the types of data. The BDMV standard compliant data is recorded in a BDMV directory, and the BDMV standard non-compliant data, for example, 1080/60p or 3D image data are recorded in a BDAV or BU directory. At the time of data reproducing process, a virtual file system in which the recorded data in the BDMV directory and the recorded data in the BDAV/BU directory are consolidated is constructed to achieve the reproducing process. With this configuration, the recording and reproducing of the BDMV standard compliant data and the BDMV standard non-compliant data are achieved.

Abstract: According to exemplary embodiments of the invention, a location-based keyword recommending system and method are provided. The location-based keyword recommending system may include a keyword collecting unit to store location information regarding a location where a keyword is input, a region setting unit to set a virtual region by performing clustering of the location information with reference to the keyword, a region combining unit to combine virtual regions overlapping each other into one virtual region, and a keyword recommending unit to provide a location-based keyword based on the keyword related to the location information of the virtual region.

Abstract: Managing power-consuming resources on a first computing device by adjusting data delivery from a plurality of second computing devices based on a state of the first computing device. The state of the first computing device is provided to the second computing devices to alter the data delivery. In some embodiments, the first computing device provides the second computing devices with actions or commands relating to data delivery based on the device state. For example, the second computing devices are instructed to store the data, forward the data, forward only high priority data, or perform other actions. Managing the data delivery from the second computing devices preserves battery life of the first computing device.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer usable program product for protocol based key management are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A key management protocol associated with a key request is identified, the key request being a request for data usable in cryptographic security. A first subset is selected from a set of policies using the key management protocol. A set of permissions is computed based on the first subset of policies, the set of permissions indicating whether the key request is permitted under the key management protocol. The set of permissions is cached in a cache in a data storage device.

Abstract: A cloud manager is utilized in the patching of physical machines and virtual machines that are used within an online service, such as an online content management service. The cloud manager assists in the scheduling of the application of software patches to the machines (physical and virtual) within the network such that the availability of the online service is maintained while machines are being patched. The machines to be patched are partitioned into groups that are patched at different times. Generally, the groups are partitioned into a highly available independent groups of machines such that one or more of the groups that are not currently being patched continue to provide the service(s) of the group that is being patched. The machines (physical and virtual) within each of the groups may be patched in parallel.

The recline mechanism comprises a coupler operatively connected to an elastomeric spring assembly. The elastomeric spring assembly has four elastomeric inserts positioned between a polygon-shaped core and a polygon-shaped exterior housing. The exterior housing is fixed to the backrest, while the core is fixed to the coupler. The exterior housing has an outwardly protruding tooth positioned between the coupler's inwardly protruding preload stop and the coupler's inwardly protruding recline stop such that the primary tooth engages the preload stop when the chair is in a rested state and engages the recline stop when the chair is in a fully reclined state.

Abstract: An improved external controller with dual microcontrollers useable with an implantable medical device is disclosed. The external controller comprises a low speed (low frequency) microcontroller and a high speed (high frequency) microcontroller. The low speed microcontroller receives telemetry data from the medical device, converts data into graphical commands, and transmits commands to the high speed microcontroller. The high speed microcontroller interprets the graphical commands, retrieves images indicative of the commands from a storage device, and renders the images onto a display screen. The high speed microcontroller may also process more complicated data sent from the low speed microcontroller, and return the results to the low speed microcontroller to allow it to form the graphics command for the high speed microcontroller to execute.

The computer comprises a processor coupled through a system bus to I/O devices and to a system memory, the computer further having a basic input output system (BIOS) unit operatively coupled to the system bus for loading a computer operating system during a computer boot procedure, wherein the system memory being accessible to the computer operating system via the system bus. Abstract: A semiconductor device with an amorphous silicon (a-Si) metal-aluminum oxide-semiconductor (MAS) memory cell structure. The device includes a substrate, a dielectric layer overlying the substrate, and one or more source or drain regions embedded in the dielectric layer with a co-planar surface of n-type a-Si and the dielectric layer. Additionally, the device includes a p-i-n a-Si diode junction. The device further includes an aluminum oxide charge trapping layer on the a-Si p-i-n diode junction and a metal control gate overlying the aluminum oxide layer. A method is provided for making the a-Si MAS memory cell structure and can be repeated to integrate the structure three-dimensionally.

Abstract: An antenna apparatus is provided with a first antenna element, a second antenna element, a first ground element, a first ground plane and a second ground plane each formed by a conductive pattern. The first antenna element and the second antenna element are electrically connected by a first through-hole, and also form a first capacitive coupling portion in which they partially overlap across a substrate and are capacitively coupled. Such a configuration enables the antenna apparatus to be realized at low cost, since an antenna can be formed with only a substrate and conductive patterns, without requiring additional elements such as sheet metal. The antenna apparatus also can be reduced in profile and size, since only the conductive patterns are formed on a first surface and a second surface of the substrate, and there are no members that project significantly from the plane of the substrate.

Abstract: Reducing energy usage by a monitor includes a map manager between a monitor interface and a processor that divides a display area of a monitor into areas and stores display information in a staging area. The map manager distinguishes an active window selected by a user from the remainder inactive, unselected areas of a display, and further determines a used subset of areas within the active window distinguished from the remainder unused areas as a function of a user preference. Accordingly, the map manager drives the monitor at each of the used area active window areas with the processor display information stored in the staging area at a normal luminance specified by the processor display information, and at each of the remainder unused, inactive and unselected areas of the total display area at a reduced luminance lower than the specified normal luminance.
