  • Publication number: 20110056703
Abstract: A well is drilled and casing installed utilizing a casing drilling technique. A bottom hole assembly having a drill bit and a fluid diverter is secured to a string of drill pipe and installed within a casing string. Drilling fluid is pumped down the drill pipe string to cause the drill bit to rotate and drill the well while the fluid diverter is in a drilling mode position. At the total depth for the casing string, the operator moves the fluid diverter to a cementing position and pumps cement down the drill pipe and up the casing string annulus. After cementing, the operator moves the fluid diverter to a packer set position and again pumps drilling fluid down the drill string to set the packer.

  • Publication number: 20110057731
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention enable a feedback-based VCO linearization technique. Embodiments include a frequency locked loop formed by feeding back a VCO's output into the VCO's input in negative phase by means of a frequency-to-voltage (F/V) converter. Embodiments enable constant VCO gain over a wide input tuning range and across PVT variations. Further, embodiments can be nested within a PLL, for example, with negligible area and power consumption overhead.

  • Publication number: 20110058737
Abstract: A method of and system for encoding high definition video content using embedded graphics coding is described. The method determines if the video content includes an RGB or YUV444 color format or a YUV422 color format. If the color scheme includes RGB or YCbCr444 data and separate encoding is used, then all three color components are encoded separately using scalar EGC. If the color scheme includes RGB or YCbCr444 data and joint encoding is used, then all three color components are jointly encoded using joint scalar EGC. If the color scheme includes YCbCr422 data and separate encoding is used, then Y, U and V are encoded separately using scalar EGC. If the color scheme includes YCbCr422 data and joint encoding is used, then Y is encoded by itself using scalar EGC and U and V are jointly encoded using joint scalar EGC.

  • Publication number: 20110060387
Abstract: A neural stimulation system automatically corrects or adjusts the stimulus magnitude (stimulation energy) in order to maintain a comfortable and effective stimulation therapy. Because the changes in impedance associated with the electrode-tissue interface can indicate obstruction of current flow and positional lead displacement, lead impedance can indicate the quantity of electrical stimulation energy that should be delivered to the target neural tissue to provide corrective adjustment. Hence, a change in impedance or morphology of an impedance curve may be used in a feedback loop to indicate that the stimulation energy needs to be adjusted and the system can effectively auto correct the magnitude of stimulation energy to maintain a desired therapeutic effect.

  • Publication number: 20110057171
Abstract: An organic light emitting device is provided having an emissive layer with an internal interface. The concentration of a second phosphorescent material in a second organic layer is different from the concentration of a first phosphorescent material in a first organic layer, creating the interface. The materials in the first and second organic layers may be the same or different. In addition to this interface within the emissive layer, the device has one or more features designed to mitigate failure mechanisms which may be associated with electrons or excitons passing from the cathode through the emissive layer to damage organic layers on the anode side of the emissive layer. In addition, devices are provided having an interface within the emissive layer as described above, and a lower energy emissive material on at least one side of the interface.

  • Patent number: 7904050
Abstract: A mixer apparatus (60), such as an integrated circuit (IC) mixer is provided for improving the physical layout of devices containing mixers. The mixer includes a multiplier (62) with an input port (64), an output port (66), a first switchable local oscillator input port (68) and a second switchable local oscillator input port (72). The dual switchable local oscillator ports are located on either side of the mixer, between the input side and the output side. The dual switchable local oscillator ports allow the mixer to provide more flexibility in integrated circuit and printed circuit board design layouts involving mixer apparatus. For example, in dual channel devices, a local oscillator can be coupled to a pair of the mixers using transmission lines that do not have to be routed around the integrated circuit, to a different level of the printed circuit board or underneath one of the mixers.
