Abstract: The invention may be embodied as a fingerprint scanner having an ultrasonic wave detector, a platen, an ultrasonic wave generator located between the detector and the platen. The invention may be embodied as a method of scanning a finger. One such method includes providing a platen, a detector and a generator, the generator being placed between the platen and the detector. A finger may be provided on the platen, and an ultrasound wave pulse may be sent from the generator toward the finger. The wave pulse may be reflected from the finger, and received at the detector. The received wave pulse may be used to produce an image of the finger.

Abstract: An information display system for a vehicle includes: a display for displaying, an operation screen for operating at least one piece of in-vehicle equipment; a first operation section including a leftward moving switch, a rightward moving switch, and a selection enter switch capable of being manipulated upward and downward and being pushed; and a controller. The controller changes a position of the operation menu selected point in the operation menus horizontally arranged on the operation screen for selecting any one of the operation menus in response to a manipulation signal from the leftward moving switch or the rightward moving switch and executes an operation relating to the selected operation menu in response to an upward or downward manipulation signal from the selection enter switch.
Abstract: A method and neurostimulation system of providing therapy to a patient is provided. At least one electrode is placed in contact with tissue of a patient. A sub-threshold, hyperpolarizing, conditioning pre-pulse (e.g., an anodic pulse) is conveyed from the electrode(s) to render a first region of the tissue (e.g., dorsal root fibers) less excitable to stimulation, and a depolarizing stimulation pulse (e.g., a cathodic pulse) is conveyed from the electrode(s) to stimulate a second different region of the tissue (e.g., dorsal column fibers). The conditioning pre-pulse has a relatively short duration (e.g., less than 200 ?s).

Abstract: A method for interacting with a memory device is provided. In this method, a cryptographic communication application is registered to be associated with a protocol type in a web browser. A message encapsulated in the protocol type from the web browser is received and thereafter transmitted to the memory device. Here, the message is associated with a cryptographic operation.
Abstract: An output circuit having an output transistor which switches a load current is disclosed. The output circuit includes a load current detecting block which detects a current level of the load current, and a slew rate adjustment block which adjusts a slew rate during a turn-off transition of the output transistor in response to a result of the detection by the load current detecting block.
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a rubber composition which has been improved in mechanical properties with maintaining excellent various properties and is favorably used for a fuel cell sealing member, a hard disc drive top cover gasket member and an electric wire connector sealing member. It is another object of the present invention to provide main bodies mounted with the above respective members obtained by the use of the rubber composition. The rubber composition of the invention comprises a specific ethylene/?-olefin/non-conjugated polyene copolymer in which the non-conjugated polyene is a norbornene-based compound, a specific SiH group-containing compound, and if necessary, an organopolysiloxane. Such a rubber composition of the invention is excellent in mechanical properties and can be particularly favorably used for a fuel cell sealing member, a hard disc drive top cover gasket, an electric wire connector sealing member, etc.

Abstract: A topic identification system identifies topics of online discussions by iteratively identifying topic words or keywords of the online discussions and identifying language patterns associated with those keywords. The topic identification system starts out with an initial set of keywords and identifies language patterns that each include a keyword. The topic identification system then uses the identified language patterns to identify additional keywords of the online discussion that match the patterns. The topic identification system then again identifies language patterns using the keywords including the newly identified keywords. The topic identification system may repeat the process of identifying language patterns and keywords until a termination criterion is satisfied.

Abstract: A method and middleware is provided for information processing includes an input thread module (210), a ware thread module (220) and an output thread module (230). The input thread module (210) selects input thread messages from first data (520), the first data derived from information received by an input device (110) coupled to the input thread module (210). The ware thread module (220) is coupled to the input thread module (210) and generates ware thread messages corresponding to the input thread messages in response to the input thread messages to generate second data (620) and data processes the ware thread messages independently from one another (630). And the output thread module (230) is coupled to the ware thread module (220) and generates output thread messages from and in response to the second data (720) and provides the output thread messages independently from one another for writing to one or more output devices in accordance with the second data (730).
