Abstract: Disclosed is a system and program for selecting one of multiple proposed paths to a device. For each proposed path, a determination is made of a number of components the proposed path shares with existing paths to the device. The components comprise points of failure such that if one component fails then the path including the component fails. The determined number of shared components for each proposed path is used to select one proposed path.

Abstract: An implantable prosthesis system including a selectively applied bone growth promoting agent is disclosed. The types of prostheses which may include a selectively applied bone growth promoting agent include rods, fracture plates, screws, as well as other types of prostheses. Additionally, the structural composition of many types of prostheses may be modified to help induce bone ingrowth and allow for fusion with the implantable prosthesis.
Abstract: Guide information is provided relating to playing/viewing of content retrieved through various modalities such as television broadcasting and a computer network. A unified program list is created that comprehensively handles program content. For a self-recorded program, program metadata retrieved during a recording operation is additionally registered. For a network program, a network program list is periodically retrieved from a service site, modified and recorded. To play the content, a guide screen is created and supplied based on a unified program list. When a self-recorded program is selected, the program is read and played from an HDD. When a network program is selected, the program is played in a streaming manner via the Internet.
Abstract: A method of predicting conflicts in a system is described which uses a process calculus to describe programs and actions within the system. The source code for programs is transformed into an expression in the process calculus and then the reduction rules for the process calculus can be applied to the expressions for the various programs and actions. Analysis of the resultant reduced expression(s) enables potential conflicts to be identified.

Corresponding apparatuses and computer program products are also presented.
Abstract: A display unit includes: a display panel for displaying an information image; a memory for storing a compressed image data element corresponding to the information image; an image memory for storing the compressed image data element transferred from the memory; and a controller for decompressing the compressed image data element stored in the image memory and for controlling the display panel to display the information image based on a decompressed image data element.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) including a backlight module and a liquid crystal display panel is provided. The backlight module has at least one white light source. BL1 and BL2 respectively represent maximum brightness peaks of a normalized emission spectrum of the backlight module at a wavelength between 500 nm to 520 nm and between 445 nm to 465 nm, in which 0.91?BL1/BL2?0.99. The liquid crystal display panel is disposed above the backlight module, and has a plurality of substrates and one liquid crystal layer located between them. One of substrates has a red filter layer, a green filter layer, and a blue filter layer, and the coordinate values of the red filter layer, the green filter layer, and the blue filter layer in CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram satisfy predetermined relation expressions.
Abstract: A WTRU configured to receive a multicast, a unicast or mixed signal. A multimedia signal may be a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Signal (MBMS). The WTRU switches between an MBMS and a mixed signal and determines optimal time to switch between the MBMS and mixed signal. The WTRU switches between receiving the MBMS and mixed signal in an adaptive or semi-static pattern. A flat broadcast channel (BCH) structure in an MBMS dedicated cell is provided, eliminating need for a dedicated broadcast channel (D-BCH). An MBMS-dedicated cell uses a single paging channel for both paging-indicators and paging-record-blocks. A system information broadcast indicates flexible resource usage and paging-record-block limits. Tracking area (TA)/cell association is provided for an MBMS-dedicated cell and geographically co-located non-MBMS-dedicated cells. MBMS-dedicated cell system information is broadcast to regulate WTRU operation while receiving MBMS within said cell.

Abstract: A system includes a bandgap temperature sensor to generate multiple base-emitter voltages. The system also include a controller to detect the base-emitter voltages generated by the bandgap temperature sensor and to generate a bandgap reference voltage according to the multiple base-emitter voltage signals, the bandgap reference voltage having a voltage level that remains substantially constant relative to environmental temperature variations.
Abstract: Methods for manufacturing trench type semiconductor devices involve refilling the trenches after high temperature processing steps are performed. The methods allow thermally unstable materials to be used as refill materials for the trenches of the device. Trench type semiconductor devices containing thermally unstable refill materials are also provided. In particular, methods of manufacturing and devices of a trench type semiconductor devices containing organic refill materials are provided.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes: a pair of substrates; a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates; an insulating layer provided for a first substrate of the pair of substrates; an upper electrode provided for the first substrate; and a lower electrode provided for the first substrate. The upper electrode is formed on the surface of the insulating layer adjacent to the liquid crystal layer. The upper electrode includes a plurality of branches each having a slit therebetween. The insulating layer has irregularities.
Abstract: In a pitch estimation apparatus, a function estimation part estimates a fundamental frequency probability density function of an audio signal by repeating a weight calculation process and an estimated shape specification process. The weight calculation process calculates a weight of each tone model of each fundamental frequency based on an estimated shape of each tone model of each fundamental frequency. The estimated shape indicates a degree of dominancy of a corresponding tone model in a total harmonic structure of the audio signal. The estimated shape specification process specifies each estimated shape of each tone model based on an amplitude spectrum of the audio signal, the harmonic structure of each tone model and the weight of each tone model. A similarity analysis part calculates a similarity index value indicating a degree of similarity between each tone model and corresponding estimated shape.

Abstract: A lens 39 is molded in one of the surfaces of a support plate 33, and a lens is molded in one of the surfaces of a support plate 35. The support plate 33 is integrated with the support plate 35 with a filter 34 sandwiched between the other surfaces of the support plates 33 and 35. In the support plates 33 and 35, seal portions 38 and 40 are formed to have a height larger than a lens thickness, so as to surround lenses 39 and 41. A spacer 31 is bonded to the seal portion 38 of the support plate 33 with an adhesive agent, and a spacer 37 is bonded to the seal portion 40 of the support plate 35 with an adhesive agent. To both end faces of the optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 301 thus formed, fiber arrays 42 and 43 are coupled respectively to form an optical multiplexing/demultiplexing module 401.

Abstract: A bundled mortgage package which includes several different features into a mortgage package, so that the process of actually obtaining a mortgage from a lender can be easier because the borrower's worries of the fees, charges, and other costs can be reduced or altogether eliminated since such fees charges and other costs may be combined, waived or otherwise resolved for the borrower is described. The lender may waive all lender fees, pay all 3rd party fees, and not require a lender's title policy. The lender may use the owner's title policy as the sole title insurance. A lender may not require mortgage insurance, waive fees associated with programs for borrower protection for involuntary unemployment or accidental death, guarantee that the loan will close within a certain period of time where the lender pays the borrower money if the loan doesn't close within the certain time period.
