Abstract: The invention concerns a swimming pool cleaner utilizing the induced flow to a filter plant pump to cause interrupted movement while cleaning the surface over which it operates. The cleaner incorporates a valve with a hollow domed perforated closure member operating in a body with the valve mounted on a stem carrying a rolling diaphragm or a piston subjected intermittently and automatically to the pressure induced by the filter plant pump.
Abstract: The invention concerns a surface contacting disc for location around the inlet of a suction operated pool cleaner wherein at least one concentric groove is provided in the surface engaging face of the disc which provides flexibility for the outer part of the disc to fold progressively along the grooves.
Abstract: The invention provides a weight to be used to submerge the hose used with swimming pool cleaners and which may be variably positioned at any position along the length of the hose, the weight having an annular metal member encased in plastics material with the plastics material also providing an inwardly directed radial flange to engage in the recesses between the corrugations of the hose.
Abstract: A relief valve for use with automatic suction operated swimming pool cleaners which has a tubular body and a bypass passage into the body inclined at an acute angle to the inlet and controlled by a closure pivotally supported about an end upstream of the normal flow direction through the valve and with the closure biased, preferably by at least one tension spring, to the closed position.
