Abstract: The invention provides a process for the preparation of a single phase hyudrophobic preparation comprising a hydrophilic species in a hydrophobic solvent wherein a compound which is:(a) a low molecular weight compound having at least some degree of polarity; and/or(b) a lipid-soluble organic acid; and/or(c) an amphiphile; and(d) glycerol or other polyhydric alcohols;is added during the process to aid solubilisation.

Abstract: Compositions containing a bile salt and a buffer such as a carbonate or bicarbonate salt which is adapted to buffer the gut to a pH of from 7.5 to 9 are capable of increasing the bioavailability of an active molecule whilst minimising the toxic side effects which are generally associated with bile salts.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of treating various diseases and conditions which are dependent on cyclic nucleotide pathways with purified stem bromelain protease. Administration of isolated and purified stem bromelain protease is effective in the treatment of diseases and conditions including inflammation, atherosclerosis, cancer, and bacterial infections.
