Abstract: A process for analysing an electroencephalogram (EEG) signal representative of activity of a brain of a subject, including: (i) generating coefficient data for a signal representation of a portion of the EEG signal; (ii) generating, based on the coefficient data, cortical state data representing the brain's receptivity to subcortical input and input from other areas of cortex; (iii) generating cortical input data representing a level of subcortical input to the brain at a time corresponding to the portion of the EEG signal; (iv) generating, based on the cortical state data and the cortical input data, display data representing the functional state of the brain of the subject; and (v) displaying the display data on display means.
Abstract: A process for analysing an electroencephalogram signal representative of activity of a brain, including: i) generating coefficient data for a signal representation of a portion of said signal; ii) generating first gain data representing an average amplitude of an output signal generated based on said signal representation and said coefficient data; iii) generating second gain data representing an average amplitude of said portion; and iv) generating, based on said first gain data and said second gain data, brain state data representing subcortical activity of said brain.
Abstract: A method for assessing brain state by analysing mammalian brain electroencephalogram (“EEG”) recordings using an eighth order autoregressive and fifth order moving average discrete time equation.

Abstract: A process for analysing an electroencephalogram signal representative of activity of a brain, including: i) generating coefficient data for a signal representation of a portion of the signal; ii) generating pole data representing positions of one or more poles on a complex plane, the positions being generated based on the coefficient data; and iii) generating, based on a mean position of the poles, brain state data representing functional state of the brain.
