Patent number: 11752914Abstract: A trailer system may have a first cargo area having a movable deck. The movable deck may be moved by an actuator. The movable deck may include a plurality of first rollers for engaging and translating cargo. And a movable tailgate may close the first cargo area when it is in a first position. The movable tailgate may have a plurality of second rollers for engaging and translating cargo when the movable tailgate is in a second position. The trailer system may have a plurality of movable decks, where each movable deck is coupled and moved by an actuator. Each actuator may comprise at least one of a hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electromechanical system. The trailer system may further have a set of lower movable decks and a set of upper movable decks. The set of upper movable decks may be coupled to the lower movable decks by actuators.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2020Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Cottrell IncorporatedInventors: Gerard Biagi, Steven Sexton, David Trenbeath, Conner Lill

Patent number: 11660996Abstract: A vehicle transport truck or trailer with a platform having at least a first section and a second section is configured such that the first section is operable to move to at least a raised position and a lowered position. A ramp is provided that connects the first section and the second section of the platform, the ramp being operable to move in conjunction with the first section. A linkage mechanism is also provided and is configured to move in conjunction with the first section of the platform. Moving the first section of the platform causes the linkage mechanism to correspondingly move the ramp such that when the first section is in the raised position the ramp is substantially aligned with the first section and when the first section is in the lowered position the ramp is not aligned with the first section.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2021Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: Cottrell IncorporatedInventors: Phillip Bryan Howes, Steven Thomas Sexton, Masaru Mike Kishimoto

Patent number: 11608001Abstract: An automatically extending and retracting step system according to the solution may reside in a retracted state when the deck of a car-carrying vehicle is substantially horizontal to the ground, i.e. when the deck is in a payload state. Advantageously, when the deck is tilted and extended to a ramp state for receiving cargo, the step system according to the solution extends laterally outward from beneath the deck, thereby providing a convenient and visible step for a user to use in getting down from the deck. When the deck is returned from the ramp state to its payload state, the step automatically retracts to a travel state beneath the deck.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2022Date of Patent: March 21, 2023Assignee: Cottrell IncorporatedInventors: Matt Rahm, Steven Thomas Sexton, Gerard Biagi

Patent number: 11548429Abstract: A ratcheting device according to the solution comprises a rotatable cogwheel comprising a plurality of teeth, a spring-loaded primary pawl, a spring-loaded handle pawl, a handle comprising a handle pawl disengagement lever, a handle pawl disengagement plate and a primary pawl disengagement plate. The primary pawl disengagement plate is mechanically coupled to the handle such that the handle may be rotated around the cogwheel to a point that the primary pawl disengagement plate contacts the spring-loaded primary pawl and causes it to disengage from the cogwheel. At the same time that the primary pawl is disengaged from the cogwheel teeth by the primary pawl disengagement plate, the handle pawl is similarly disengaged from the cogwheel teeth via contact with a handle pawl disengagement plate.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2022Date of Patent: January 10, 2023Assignee: Cottrell IncorporatedInventors: Phillip Bryan Howes, Matt Rahm

Patent number: 4372832Abstract: A combination spray drying and electron beam treatment for effluent gases provides air pollution control for even high sulfur coals.Liquid and a reagent are injected into the effluent gas in the spray dryer, thereby cleansing the effluent gas, decreasing its temperature, and increasing its moisture content. The spray drying decreases the temperature at least to below 100.degree. C. and, most preferably, to between 60.degree. C. and 70.degree. C. The decreased temperature, increased moisture content effluent gas including both reacted compounds and unreacted reagent is conveyed into an irradiation chamber, whereat radiation causes the gaseous sulfur oxides and/or nitrogen oxides to convert into mist and/or solid particles. The unreacted reagent may then react with the acid mist. The effluent gases are then subjected to dry particular collection.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1981Date of Patent: February 8, 1983Assignee: Research-Cottrell, IncorporatedInventor: John R. Bush
