Patents Assigned to Cousin Freres
  • Patent number: 4707977
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a composite cord, in particular for use in stringing tennis rackets, continuous fibers are twisted together while a liquid binder is applied between them. This occurs just before the fibers are twisted through a die which wipes the binder and forms a protective sheath. Cords are manufactured at reduced cost through the elimination of heating of the entire cord.

  • Patent number: 4362631
Abstract: A special trawl net for collecting floating products has a dorsal or upper face of a close-mesh netting which extends over the two wings of the trawl and forms on the ventral or lower face thereof two lateral strips separated by a central net zone having a wider-mesh netting, so that water can easily escape therethrough. An impervious sleeve surrounding the bag formed by the trailing end of the trawl, and extending beyond this trailing end, is connected to the bag at one end and is open at its other end. This sleeve makes it possible to sealingly enclose the bag when the latter is filled with the products to be collected.

  • Patent number: 4176735
Abstract: An apparatus for off-winding thread which comprises a driving shaft, a drive means for rotating the driving shaft, a driven shaft, an electrically operated clutch interconnecting said driven and driving shaft, an electrically operated brake connected to said driven shaft, and an electronic control circuit. The control circuit comprises three parts connected to the said clutch and brake. The first part of the control circuit is connected to the said clutch and incorporates an integrating circuit for producing gradual engagement of the clutch. The second part of the control circuit is connected to the said brake and incorporates a pulse generating circuit for producing a large temporary braking force. The third part of the control circuit is also connected to the said brake and incorporates a constant signal generator for producing a small constant braking force.
