Abstract: The present invention describes a method for producing a leak-tight vessel for holding a gas and/or liquid, comprising the steps of winding a heat-sealable thermoplastic barrier strip around a removable mandrel in such a way that each strip fragment overlaps with a substantially parallel strip fragment over at least a lateral overlapping distance, consolidating the overlapping strip fragments so as to form a gas and/or liquid tight layer, winding a fibrous material around the gas and/or liquid tight layer, thereby leaving an opening large enough for removing the mandrel. The invention also describes a leak-tight vessel produced in this way.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the manufacture of pressure-resistant gas and/or liquid tight containers made from thermoplastic materials. To this end the method comprises the following steps: providing a removable external mandrel around a neckpiece, followed by providing at the inside of such mandrel a thermoplastic material for the manufacture of a thermoplastic internal wall. Hereupon the external mandrel is removed and the thermoplastic internal wall is filled with a cooling liquid. Hereupon additional thermoplastic material is provided to the external side of the thermoplastic wall and is consolidated either during the provision hereof, or thereafter or both. Hereupon the cooling liquid is removed and the container is ready for being used.

Abstract: A plastic pressure vessel comprises a first (1, 2) and a second part (2, 1) welded to each other. The first part (1) comprises a layer (11) of thermoplastic material having substantially continuous fibres. The second part comprises a layered structure having an first (20) and a second (22) layer of thermoplastic material having substantially continuous fibres separated by a central (21) layer comprising thermoplastic material. The layer having substantially continuous fibres (11) of the first part extends over a length (d) sandwiched in between and connected with the first (20) and second (22) layer of thermoplastic material having substantial continuous fibres of the second part. Preferably the second part is provided with a slit (24) and the first part with a fitting protrusion, preferably with a bevelled end (23).
