  • Patent number: 4640322
Abstract: A machine for applying sub-atmospheric pressure through a filter to pull material from a hopper laterally into a non-rotatable chamber at a presettable volume and after the chamber is filled blowing the material out of the chamber through the filter out of a discharge nozzle at the bottom of the chamber into a receptacle. In a preferred embodiment, the material is a pulverulent material which is fluent en masse and the material is aspirated into the measuring chamber by applying a sub-atmospheric pressure above a variably positionable head in the chamber which head has a filter in it through which the suction is drawn. After the chamber is filled, a super-atmospheric pressure is applied over the head to shoot the mass of particulate material out of the discharge nozzle, the particulate material having been held back by a discharge valve prior to the application of the super-atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 4570822
Abstract: A liquid filling machine has a plurality of discharge nozzles for simultaneously filling a plurality of containers. Each nozzle is connected to a manifold and has a restriction. A discreet pressure sensor is connected to each nozzle upstream from its restriction, and a solenoid valve is provided for each nozzle. A programmable device is connected to each pressure sensor and each valve for calculating a number indicative of fill time and closing each valve when the number is reached.

  • Patent number: 4185732
Abstract: Ampuls are processed through a plurality of workstations successively arranged along a path in an ampul processing machine. At one station, an anti-jammer device is operative for preventing ampuls being guided through a continuously converging infeed chute from jamming and blocking the path. An intermittently-driven chain conveyor advances ampuls along the path during advancement time periods in which the ampuls are conveyed from one station to the next, and maintains the conveyed ampuls within their respective stations for processing, i.e., filling or sealing, the ampuls during dwell time periods which alternate with the advancement time periods. At another station, a movable infeed shuttle is operative for feeding ampuls to the chain conveyor during each dwell time period. At still another station, a movable outfeed shuttle is operative for discharging ampuls from the chain conveyor during each dwell time period.
