Patent number: 6745759Abstract: The present invention provides a dome cover for a outdoor heater that is made up of a plurality of sides. Each side has at least three edges, a first edge is a finished edge, a second edge includes at least a first complementary fastener portion and a third edge includes at least a second complementary fastener portion. The first and second complementary fastener portions are configured and arranged to fit together to removably attach adjacent pairs of sides to form a generally pyramidal shape. At least two edges on each of the sides are elevated at an angle above the plane formed by the base to form the generally pyramidal shape. A cap is configured and arranged to hold the sides at the preferred angle. A locking plate is designed to cooperate with the cap to capture the sides between them.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2001Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Assignee: CPD Associates, Inc.Inventor: Martin C. Patent number: 6718685Abstract: An insect trap apparatus includes a trap housing having at least one inlet and at least one outlet. A source of suction is located within the housing and is in fluid communication with the inlet for drawing insects through the inlet. Carbon dioxide gas is disposed in the housing and includes a combustion chamber with a chamber outlet. An exhaust system is connected to the CO2 gas source for directing a flow of CO2 from the gas source to the at least one outlet. Insects are caught in a trap cup that is connected to the housing and disposed between the inlet and the source of suction.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2002Date of Patent: April 13, 2004Assignee: CPD Associates, Inc.Inventor: Martin C. Patent number: 6684876Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved barbecue kettle leg support featuring a body that is contoured to fit the curved shape of a barbecue kettle bowl and to receive an end of a leg with a locking formation. Fastener bores are configured for mounting the leg support to the bowl. Preferably, the leg support is mounted midway between the top and bottom of the bowl for increased stability. A keyed bore enables assembly of the leg with the locking formation. The locking formation utilizes a pin which is attached to a bias spring to prevent unwanted detachment of the leg from the leg support. The locking formation is configured to allow assembly and disassembly to be performed without the use of tools.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2001Date of Patent: February 3, 2004Assignee: CPD Associates, Inc.Inventor: Martin C. Patent number: 6651647Abstract: A heating apparatus includes a burner assembly for igniting fuel from a fuel source, an upper housing for the burner assembly, and an elongate support member extending upwardly to the burner assembly housing to space the housing from ground level. A shroud is spaced from the burner assembly by the elongate support member, is configured for slidably engaging the elongate support member and is dimensioned for surrounding the fuel source. An emitter surface of the housing is inclined relative to a longitudinal axis of the burner assembly for maximum efficiency in warming of a preselected area by the heat emitted from the housing. At least three legs support the elongate support member above a base and define a space for accommodating a gas cylinder serving as the fuel source. A dome is mountable above the burner assembly and a single carton is provided for enclosing the disassembled assembly.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2001Date of Patent: November 25, 2003Assignee: CPD Associates, Inc.Inventor: Michael Waters
