Abstract: An angle tapping block allows for lifting a flooring plank from a subfloor surface and tapping the flooring plank. The angle tapping block includes a beating block that has multiple surfaces, including a beating block beating surface for beating with a hammer and a beating block tapping surface for tapping the side of the flooring plank. The angle tapping block also includes a lifter plate attached to the beating block and positioned below the beating block. The lifter plate can be placed beneath a flooring plank and lift from the subfloor surface for tapping.

Abstract: A carpet stretcher device has an automatic adjusting tube that changes length with telescoping motion of an inside tube and an outside tube. A housing is mounted on the outside tube, and at least one lever is connected to the housing. A hand lever controls the motion of a spring-loaded rotating arm with a locking button positioned within the housing to insert and remove the locking button from holes in the tubes. When lifted away from the housing, the hand lever releases the rotating arms, which rotate to remove the locking button from holes in the tubes and thereby allow the tubes to telescope. The carpet stretcher may also have a floor lever that retracts when the device contacts a floor surface and extends when the device is lifted off a floor surface. When extended, the floor lever also releases the rotating arms, thereby allowing the tubes to telescope.

Abstract: A cushion back cutter includes finger holes that are shaped to make blade changes and adjustments faster and easier. The cushion back cutter includes a center plate with a recess forming a blade pocket for holding a slotted razor blade. The center plate includes a finger opening for removing a slotted razor blade. The finger opening, which may be non-circular, crosses an upper wall of the blade pocket that supports the blade. A first side plate attached to a first side of the center plate covers the blade pocket in the center plate, and includes a blade window for removing a slotted razor blade from the blade pocket of the center plate. A second side plate is attached to a second side of the center plate, which also includes a finger opening.

Abstract: A motorized floor stripper machine includes a motor, a frame, and a blade carrier. The blade carrier is capable of holding blades of different sizes, which can be installed on the blade carrier. The blade carrier is mounted to the frame on shock absorbers. A cam on the frame is connected to the blade carrier by a linkage that includes a bearing block, a pivot plate, a pivot pin, and a support plate. The blade carrier includes ball bearings that fit within linear channels mounted to the frame, so that when the cam is driven in an orbital motion, the blade carrier moves in a generally linear forward-backward motion. The blade carrier is relieved and includes multiple sets of holes for securing blades of different sizes.

The center plate includes a slot that forms a blade holding pocket with a bottom opening to receive one or more blades. A blade clamp is inserted into the blade clamp opening of the first side plate, and a blade clamp fastener tightens to cause the blade clamp to press the blades against the second side plate to hold the blades in position. The center side plate forms a row guide for guiding the blades of the cutter between adjacent rows of carpet tufts. The row guide may include a region having continuous notches, which tend to move the carpet tufts out of the path of the blades to avoid shearing them.

Abstract: A carpet seaming iron includes a base assembly and a top cover, within which the heating and control components are located. A bimetal thermostat, an over-temperature cutoff, and/or a thermistor and thermistor cover are secured between the base assembly and top cover by an elevated surface of the base assembly. The base assembly may include a base having an outer groove such that the top cover that fits over the base and in the outer groove of the base. To keep the cord away from a user during operation, the handle of the carpet seaming iron may also be attached to the cord by a rotatable cord guard holder that extends the cord away from the handle and a semi-rigid cord guard that reduces bending of the cord.

Abstract: An undercut saw including a motor, a drive shaft rotated by the motor, a blade mount mechanically linked to the drive shaft, the blade mount allowing a saw blade to be mounted and a fixed blade guard circumscribing a portion of the saw blade. The fixed blade guard includes a top plate and a height adjustment skirt in telescoping attachment joined by fasteners. A guide washer with a fastener assembly is configured to move up and down in a slot on the height adjustment skirt. Turning a lead threaded member raises and lowers the top plate.

Abstract: A toe-kick saw having a yieldable spindle extension is disclosed. At least one nub, as a transfer member, projects from a first or a second drive plate. The nub is engageable with a depression, slot or other nub receiving area on the other drive plate, to couple and uncouple the plates. In an engaged condition, the drive plates, a secondary spindle, a blade mount and a circular saw blade spin with the saw motor spindle. In a disengaged condition, the first drive plate spins with the saw motor spindle while the second drive plate, secondary spindle, blade mount and saw blade are disengaged from the first drive plate and the saw motor spindle. A biasing mechanism presses the second drive plate towards the first drive plate. A further biasing mechanism may press the second plate towards the first plate with more force when the plates are coupled than when decoupled.

Abstract: A loop pile cutter includes an added blade holder thumbscrew that provides an additional clamping force to hold a blade holder right side and blade holder left side against a base mounting bracket. The added blade holder thumbscrew also guides the blade holder along the base mounting bracket. In particular, the added blade holder thumbscrew inserts within a slot in the base mounting bracket. Since the added blade holder thumbscrew is removable, the slot may be closed-ended. The combination of an added blade holder thumbscrew and a closed-ended slot in the base mounting bracket reduces deflection of the blade holder from carpet tufts that resist being parted by a center row guiding edge.

Abstract: A plank top set tool for driving hardwood staples including a body having an underside base surface which contacts a base top and an angled stop surface fitting over the vertical surface leading to the tongue base. Extending at a 45 degree angle through the block is a staple slot bore having a staple slot width. A rod is insertable into the bore and has a first end acting as a hammering head to receive an impact force and a second end configured to receive a staple head and transfer the force.

Abstract: A carpet trimmer including a base, a pair of posts mounted on said base and a handle mounted on said base. A number of spacers are inserted over the posts and secured by fasteners. A blade holder holding a pair of blades and including a blade holding face and a wall runner is inserted between two of the spacers, such that the posts fit into groove on the blade holding face. Throat adjustment holes on said spacers receive dimples on the blade holder to allow throat adjustment.

Abstract: An undercut saw including a housing, a motor within said housing, a drive shaft rotated by said motor, and a blade mount mechanically linked to said shaft such that a circular saw blade mounted on said mount is rotated when the motor rotates the drive shaft. A fixed blade guard circumscribes a portion of the blade and allows selectable height adjustment of the blade. A stabilization bar on the fixed blade guard may be extended to make the device more stable. On the underside of the fixed blade guard a dust channel allows dust to be swept by the rotating blade into a dust port. The dust channel allows positioning of the dust port away from the leading edges of the fixed blade guard.
