Abstract: A tube fitting for joining resinous plastic tubing comprises a fitting body having an opening with a conically shaped camming mouth. A tube extends into the opening. A first ferrule is slidably received on the tube and has an exterior surface which faces the camming mouth. A second ferrule is also slidably received on the tube at a location outwardly of the opening and the first ferrule. The second ferrule has a nose portion which engages the first ferrule adjacent the tube and is snap fitted within a recess formed circumferentially of the tube prior to association of the tube with the fitting. The nose portion of the second ferrule is engaged in the recess in axial driving engagement with the tube prior to make-up of said fitting. A nut member is threadedly engaged with the body for driving the first and second ferrules into the camming mouth during fitting make-up.

Abstract: A gripping and sealing or coupling device particularly useful for heavy-walled tubular members includes a body member having first and second counterbores cooperatively receiving first and second ferrules therein. Radial expansion of the first ferrule on makeup of the device is limited by a cylindrical radial flange on the end of the ferrule and by radially dimensioning the first counterbore so that it is substantially less than a minor diameter of the threads of an associated coupling nut or on the coupling body. The holding forces of the ferrules is enhanced by limiting radial deformation while disassembly and reassembly of a coupling arrangement is readily facilitated.

Abstract: A deburring tool for reaming inner and outer diameter end portions of tube and pipe-like workpieces includes a cast housing having an integrally formed conical support member therein. The conical support member has a base portion disposed adjacent one end of the housing and an apex area spaced toward the other end of the housing. Radially disposed apertures having a predetermined width dimension divide the conical support member into a plurality of wedge portions. A blade assembly is comprised of a plurality of separate blades which are fixedly secured to each other in a pattern identical to the pattern of apertures in the support member. The blades have a thickness dimension which is greater than the width dimension of the apertures in order that the blade assembly will be retained in the conical support member by a press-fit relationship established between the blades and apertures.

Abstract: A tube fitting for a large diameter tube comprises a coupling body having a bore, a counterbore adapted to receive such tube, and a rearwardly opening generally frusto-conical camming mouth adapted to surround the tube when inserted in the coupling body. A front and back ferrule are provided which are adapted to be snugly received upon the tube. The front ferrule is defined by a nose portion adapted to engage the camming mouth. The rearward end of the front ferrule is provided with a camming mouth adapted to be engaged by a nose portion of the back ferrule. The rearward end of the back ferrule is provided with a back face adapted to be engaged by a complementary surface of a coupling nut which is threadedly engaged with the coupling body.
