Abstract: A handcuff design is provided, including a handcuff strand having ratchet teeth with openings formed therein, a ratchet button comprising teeth configured to interface with the openings formed in the handcuff strand, a universal handcuff key receptacle configured to receive a universal handcuff key, a pawl arrangement including a rotatable pawl element configured to be moved in a direction away from the handcuff strand by the universal handcuff key, the pawl arrangement including a spring mechanism, and a lock bar configured to impede movement of the pawl arrangement unless moved to an unlocked position. Unlocking the handcuff requires digitally actuating a first of the pair of ratchet buttons concurrently with digitally actuating a second of the pair of ratchet buttons while simultaneously employing the universal handcuff key, thereby releasing the ratchet teeth of the handcuff strand.

Abstract: A handcuff is provided, including a handcuff strand having ratchet teeth, a pair of buttons on opposing sides of the handcuff, and a spring configured to receive rotational force from a key and cause rotation of a first rotating element. Rotation of the first rotating element rotates a second rotating element, releasing the second rotating element from the ratchet teeth of the handcuff strand and allowing release of the handcuff strand when both of the pair of buttons are depressed.

Abstract: A handcuff is provided, including a strand comprising ratchet teeth, a universal handcuff key locking mechanism configured to receive a universal handcuff key to unlock the handcuff, a first engageable selection mechanism located on a first side of the handcuff, and a second engageable selection mechanism positioned on a second side of the handcuff opposite the first side. Unlocking the handcuff requires actuating the first engageable selection mechanism concurrently with actuating the second engageable selection mechanism while simultaneously employing the universal handcuff key, thereby releasing the ratchet teeth of the handcuff strand.

Abstract: An apparatus enabling maintaining a small electronic device is provided. The apparatus includes a base and a loop attached to the base. The loop has a length, and the loop is joined to the base at a first position at approximately 6.25 percent of the length from a first end and further joined to the base at a second position approximately 18.75 percent of the length from the first end. The loop includes an unbound section of approximately 68.75 percent of the length and the loop is further joined to the base at a third position proximate the first end.

The design includes a radio connector comprising physical radio interconnection hardware configured to fit with and physically fixedly join with the radio and a pouch connector including a pouch connector plug configured to fit with and physically fixedly interconnect with a connector formed within a radio pouch such that physical removal of the radio from the radio pouch causes a corresponding physical removal of the pouch connector from the connector formed within the radio pouch. The radio connector and pouch connector electrically interconnect with a processing device such that signals are transmitted between the radio and the processing device.

The handcuffs may be connected via chain or similar device. Standard handcuffs may be unlocked by use of a universal key thereby creating safety and security issues. This design incorporates secondary security features which require that a handcuff be manipulated in some additional manner simultaneously while a handcuff key is utilized. This system requires two sets of hands to be used simultaneously to disengage the locking system. One hand of a person wearing the handcuffs is unable to manipulate the handcuff on which it is worn. As a result, it is virtually impossible for the wearer of the handcuffs to unlock the handcuffs/restraining device even if the person is in possession of the required key.
