Abstract: A fluidtight slide fastener comprising a pair of tapes both delimited by two opposite long edges and by two opposite short edges, each tape comprising a textile material strip coated with a fluid barrier material layer at least at the opposite faces thereof, the strip remaining uncoated at least one of said short edges of each tape, each tape being equipped with a set of aligned teeth on at least a portion of one of said long sides thereof, the aligned teeth of said sets facing each other and being associated with opposite opening and closing stops, and a slider slidable between said closing stop and said opening stop for engaging in a fluidtight way or disengaging said aligned teeth respectively, wherein the fastener further comprises a coating formed on each tape at said at least one of said uncoated short edges for covering the textile material strip in a fluidtight way at said at least one of said uncoated short edges.

Abstract: A slider for zip fasteners with two tabs, includes a hollow body in which are positioned members designed in such a way that, when either one of the two tabs is pulled, this causes the disengagement of a pawl from the teeth of a fastener, overcoming the resistance of elastic elements which keep the pawl inserted between the teeth. In the slider, the members include a fork provided with two prongs positioned on opposite sides of the plane of the teeth and pivoted at a point of the slider in such a way that it can rotate in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the teeth when a force is exerted on at least one of its prongs by the tab connected to it by its ring.

Abstract: A method of sealing the join between two tapes to which the teeth of a waterproof zip are attached and two edges of a garment composed of a first or waterproof layer and a second or fabric layer, which comprises: a) applying to a first side of each tape, a strip of heat-weldable textile material attached to it, by at least one weld line, such that each strip comprises a first and a second flap; b) welding the edge of the first layer to one face of the flap furthest from the teeth; c) attaching the edge of the second layer to the second side of each tape; d) folding down the flap nearest to the teeth of the zip; and e) forming another weld that hermetically joins the outline of the outer edges of the flap to the corresponding tape around the area.
