Publication number: 20160209174Abstract: Disclosed herein are reusable adapters for sighting devices for rocket launchers and other large weapons, particularly mounting adapters for reusable sighting devices that allow retrofitting of existing weapons inventory. Some embodiments include an adapter that includes a laser sighting device mount coupled to a mounting bracket, wherein the mounting bracket is configured to register to and align with one or more housing features of the rocket launcher. In various embodiments, the adapter also includes a strap member configured to secure and immobilize the adapter in position on the rocket launcher. In various embodiments, the laser sighting device mount may be factory calibrated with respect to the adapter, and therefore once the adapter has been mounted on the rocket launcher, no field calibrations of the laser sighting device are necessary.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2013Publication date: July 21, 2016Applicant: CRIMSON TRACE INC.Inventors: Scott Hartley, James McDonald, Dale Suzuki, Dee Swartz, Jeff Hoblitt

Patent number: 8607492Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to the field of weapon accessories, and, more specifically, to modular, electrically powered weapon accessories. Various embodiments include powered modular vertical foregrips that may serve as platforms for multiple firearms accessories, such as modular laser and/or LED lighting and/or sighting systems, radiofrequency receiver and/or transmitter systems, and/or other powered accessories. Various embodiments may be adapted to couple to a mounting rail, such as a Picatinny or Weaver rail, and particular embodiments may be adapted to couple to a lower hand guard quad-rail of an M4 or other small arms weapon. Systems in accordance with various embodiments may provide a platform that may consolidate multiple accessory devices and functions into a single ergonomic and compact unit.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2011Date of Patent: December 17, 2013Assignee: Crimson Trace, Inc.Inventors: Scott Hartley, Drew Essig, Sam Nicoletti, Devon Croswell, Patrick Barrett, Dale Suzuki, Jeffrey Hoblitt

Publication number: 20130185982Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to the field of firearms, and, more specifically, to laser sights for firearms, particularly laser sights having multiple laser diodes. Various embodiments of the disclosed systems may include two or more lasers in a single unit, and may not only be relatively less expensive relative to units with two separate lasers and housings, but they may also be easier to calibrate and use. For example, in various embodiments, the system may include two or more lasers that may be adjusted for windage and elevation (e.g., calibrated) simultaneously. Thus, in various embodiments, one or more infrared diodes may be calibrated automatically when a corresponding visible light diode is calibrated, and vice versa.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2011Publication date: July 25, 2013Applicant: CRIMSON TRACE INC.Inventors: Zachary Hilbourne, Jason Hilbourne, Daniel Hughes, Danny Anderson

Publication number: 20120124885Abstract: Embodiments provide modular illumination systems that may be used with any handgun platform, and are not specific to any make or model. Some embodiments may provide lighting, for instance visible light and/or infrared light for use in low light or dark environments. Also provided in various embodiments are aiming and/or sighting systems that may be equipped with an IR sight or a laser sight, such as a red or green laser. In various embodiments, the illumination modules may couple to the handgun via a mounting member that is integral to the handgun body, and the mounting member may be recessed or otherwise concealed and/or protected by the handgun body. Thus, in various embodiments, no portion of the mounting member (or the corresponding mounting element on the illumination module) is exposed or visible when the illumination module is coupled to the mounting member, and a conventional holster may be used.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2011Publication date: May 24, 2012Applicant: CRIMSON TRACE, INC.Inventors: Michael J.
