  • Patent number: 11484961
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to methods, systems, and apparatuses, for providing fittings capable of being orbitally welded. A system may include measuring components configured to measure a tubing thickness and measure a fitting thickness. The system may also include a processor configured to determine a difference in thickness between the measured tubing thickness and the measured fitting thickness and, based on the determined difference in thickness, determine an amount of fitting that is to be removed to reach a set, specified thickness that allows the fitting to be orbitally welded. The system may also include a facing tool configured to bevel and shape an end portion of the fitting according to the determined amount of fitting that is to be removed to reach the specified thickness and may include an orbital welder configured to orbitally weld the beveled end of the fitting to the tubing in a fusion socket weld.

  • Publication number: 20220219255
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to an orbital welding system, including customized orbital weld head fixtures, and computer-controlled programs for performing homogeneous orbital welds. In one scenario, an orbital welding system includes a controller, a shield gas supply system that supplies gases to an orbital welding tool, an electrical supply system that supplies an electrical current to the orbital welding tool, and the orbital welding tool, which includes a welding electrode that is configured to weld two or more items together using the supplied electrical current and the gases supplied by the gas supply system. The controller generates control signals that direct the orbital welding tool, the electrical supply system, and the gas supply system to homogeneously orbital weld the at least two items together, so that the at least two items are homogeneously welded together without using a filler material. Various other methods, systems, and apparatuses are also described.

  • Publication number: 20210278943
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to methods, systems, apparatuses, and user interfaces for remotely monitoring and controlling objects identified in images. In one scenario, a system is provided that includes an image sensing device configured to capture images, a transceiver, and an interactive interface that allows a user to select objects identified in at least one of the images captured by the image sensing device. Selecting an identified object within the images creates a corresponding node that provides data related to the identified object. The system also includes a data collection hub configured to receive and aggregate data received from the nodes created by the user through the interactive interface.

  • Patent number: 10394256
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to a gas supply system, a gas panel monitoring system and to a gas distribution platform controlled via a high availability computing cluster. In one case, a gas supply system is provided which includes a gas panel defining an enclosure that includes a gas dispensing manifold. Gas flow through the gas dispensing manifold is regulated using solenoids. The gas supply system also includes a redundant control system that is electrically connected to the solenoids. The redundant control system is configured to send actuation signals to the solenoids to allow or prevent gas from flowing through the gas dispensing manifold. The gas supply system further includes a communications module that allows the redundant control system to monitor multiple gas panels. The monitoring includes receiving feedback from gas cabinet components regarding component operational status, and also transmitting actuation signals from the redundant control system to the gas panel.

  • Publication number: 20120031545
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for customizing a gift card. The system includes a indicia carrier having a machine readable medium for an encoded account number supported on one side of the indicia carrier and being devoid of embossed account indicia on an opposite side. The system also includes a self-adhesive label adapted for application onto at least part of a surface of the indicia carrier. The system further includes means for customizing the label with a customized display. The system also includes a printer to print the customized display on the label. Additionally, the system includes a label applicator that facilitates alignment of the label with the indicia carrier for joining the label and the indicia carrier.

  • Patent number: 4237898
Abstract: Apparatus is described for heating tissue and which is particularly useful for treating tumors in humans and animals. A radio frequency a-c electric current is caused to flow between two electrodes or one electrode and ground directly through both the tumor and the surrounding tissue. The current is controlled to cause heating of the tumor and the surrounding tissue such that the tumor heats to a level sufficient to cause necrosis without substantial damage to the surrounding tissue.

  • Patent number: 4121592
Abstract: Apparatus is described for heating tissue and which is particularly useful for treating tumors in humans and animals. An electric field is produced across two electrodes or one electrode and ground, and is passed through both the tumor and the surrounding tissue. The polarity of the electric field is varied at radio frequency. The power of the electric field is efficiently coupled into the tissue being heated. Direct current inverse feedback circuitry enables close control of tissue temperatures.
