Abstract: A composition has a water dispersible esterified trimer acid (ETA) and a block co-polymer, especially a polyoxyalkylene block copolymer having EO and PO blocks. The composition may also have a polymeric surfactant antifoaming agent and an oil (especially a mineral oil or ester oil).
Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds according to Formula 1; wherein R represents a hydrocarbon group, Z represents an oxyethylene group, B represents an alkyl chain comprising 1 to 5 carbon atoms, Y represents 0 or 1, X represents a number greater than zero, and their use as surfactants, and in particular as surfactants which act as foam promoting agents.
Abstract: A liquid and readily flowable composition includes (a) a room-temperature-solid solute, such as a nonionic surfactant, preferably having a hydrophile-lipophile balance from about 11.1 to about 18.4, a (ii) C8-C14 fatty acid, or combinations thereof; (b) an alkoxylated fatty alkanolamide; and (c) water, if needed. The alkoxylated fatty alkanolamide, which is substantially liquid at room temperature, solvates the solid solute to form a homogeneous composition which is liquid and readily flowable at room temperature. The select classes of nonionic surfactants include polyalkylene oxide carboxylic acid esters, ethoxylated fatty alcohols, poloxamers, alkyl polysaccharides, or combinations thereof. Useful alkoxylated fatty alkanolamides include propoxylated fatty ethanolamides.
Abstract: A resin composition contains a tackifying resin and at least one phosphorous containing surfactant having branched alkyl and/or alkenyl group and a polyoxyalkylene group. The resin composition is particularly suitable for use in pressure sensitive adhesives.
Abstract: A liquid and readily flowable composition includes (a) a room-temperature-solid solute comprising at least one nonionic surfactant, preferably having a hydrophile-lipophile balance from about 11.1 to about 18.8, (b) at least one fatty alkanolamide; and (c) water, if needed. The fatty alkanolamide, which is substantially liquid at room temperature, solvates the solid solute to form a homogeneous composition which is liquid and readily flowable at room temperature. The select classes of nonionic surfactants include polyalkylene oxide carboxylic acid esters, ethoxylated fatty alcohols, poloxamers, alkyl polysaccharides, or combinations thereof. Useful fatty alkanolamides include fatty diethanolamides.
Abstract: Mixtures of water immiscible components and water dispersible components, in combination with an optional coemulsifier and an optional coupling agent, provide synthetic (water based) emulsions that have enhanced lubricity, provide excellent cooling characteristics, are low foaming and biostable and can be made effectively transparent.
Abstract: The properties of 2-pyrrolidone-4-carboxylic substituted polysiloxanes can be dramatically altered by increasing the presence of the carboxylic-substituted pyrrolidone monomer of the polysiloxane, such that the amidopolysiloxane has an acid equivalent weight of about 3:00-3,000 daltons and a molecular weight average Mw of about 1,000-60,000 daltons resulting in enhanced detergent and water solubilities and the ability to form water-in-oil emulsions thereby providing usefulness across a broad range of formulations having enhanced electrolytic and silicone and/or hydrocarbon compatibility and cleansing properties.
