  • Patent number: 4747480
Abstract: An apparatus for the even alignment of objects essentially uniform among each other comprises at least one conveyor belt moving in a plane in a particular direction, on which the objects are placed. A first and a second conveyor belt, which converge downwards with their conveyor planes to a funnel which randomly receives the objects to be aligned, are provided. In the area of the funnel the first conveyor belt rotates from the bottom toward the top and the second conveyor belt rotates transversely hereto, thus due to the interaction of both conveyor belts the objects are aligned and are subsequently conveyed out of the funnel in this condition by the second conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 4642965
Abstract: The disclosure describes a method of automatically attaching an arrow label in the center hole of a ball, skein or package of yarn or thread wound onto a winding mandrel. The arrow label is coaxially aligned with the winding mandrel. During withdrawal of the ball of yarn from the winding mandrel the ball slides with its center hole onto the label. Subsequently, the ball of yarn is transported away together with the label by a conveyor means. A device for carrying out this method is provided with a movable label conveyor which positions the arrow labels one at a time and tip first at the winding mandrel. A movable gripping device then withdraws the ball of yarn from the winding mandrel, slides it over the shaft of the arrow label and transfers the labelled ball to ball conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4611707
Abstract: The disclosure describes a device for transferring a ball, skein or package from a winding mandrel to a freely projecting carrier arm mounted on a conveyor belt. This purpose is served by a wedge member, onto which the wound ball is moved by a gripping device and which subsequently moves with the ball towards the carrier arm. The wedge member and carrier arm both have a cross sectional profile which enables the wedge member to be displaced lengthwise of the carrier arm so as to pass over and beyond it and so the ball is pushed onto and remains on the carrier arm. In this way, the ball is exactly positioned and an arrow label may be inserted into the center hole of the ball with the aid of the carrier arm. Once the label has been inserted the labelled ball is withdrawn from the carrier arm.

  • Patent number: 4432503
Abstract: A machine for producing yarn loops comprises a rotary winding flyer or member having a discharge end through which the yarn emerges. A winding means for collecting the yarn loops is provided and transfers the loops to a conveyor. In order to secure the end of the yarn as it emerges from the discharge end upon start up of the machine a pair of rings are provided which can be moved relative to each other by a powered device. The rings define complementary surfaces between which the end of the yarn is passed prior to the rings being moved into engagement with each other to secure the end of the yarn. The rings are moved apart after at least one yarn loop has been produced.

  • Patent number: 4149357
Abstract: A device on a skein winding machine for applying bands onto band flaps arranged on a movable carrier, in which a band lifter provided with a suction nozzle is arranged to remove a band from a magazine under the effect of suction at the suction nozzle and place the band on the band flaps, the band lifter being connected to a slide which presses the lifted band onto the band flaps during continued movement of the band lifter.

  • Patent number: 4124171
Abstract: A contractable winding mandrel for forming yarn balls or the like and comprising a fit-on piece mounted upon a shaft, first arms articulated thereon, struts rotatably connected to the said arms and arranged generally parallel to the shaft, and second arms which are pivotably connected to the struts at their one ends and having their other ends pivotably mounted in a head piece which is slidable parallel and coaxially to the shaft, so that when the spacing between the fit-on piece and the head piece is increased or reduced the radial spacing of the struts can be reduced or increased respectively, wherein the outside surfaces of the fit-on piece and of at least the second arms are made rough and/or uneven to prevent slipping of yarn upon the mandrel when the spacing between the fit-on piece and the head piece is increased.

  • Patent number: 4089479
Abstract: A machine for simultaneously winding a plurality of yarn packages. Yarn is wound on each of a series of spindles by an associated rotated guide structure. Each guide structure includes a crank-shaped arm or guide portion adjacent to a spindle for directing yarn to the spindle, and a drive arm or section supported for rotation. The drive arms of the guide structures are simultaneously driven by a common drive motor and belt acting on individual pulleys connected to each drive arm via a sleeve and counterbalanced fork piece. The guide structures are selectively simultaneously adjustable in an axial direction by a crank operated screw shaft and nut mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4055934
Abstract: A device on a skein winding machine for the application of bands to banding flaps arranged on a movable carrier, which includes a band feeder for withdrawing a band from a magazine band applying the bnd to the banding flaps in an initial setting of the carrier, for subsequent transfer of the applied bands by the motion of the carrier to a completely wound skein, subsequently depositing the banded skein on a deposit location and finally returning to the initial setting.

  • Patent number: 4055312
Abstract: A process and apparatus for winding a yarn or thread on a reel or bobbin by way of a reciprocating yarn or thread guiding device, and which comprises a pair of settable counters driven by the bobbin or reel basket drive. After a predetermined number of revolutions of the bobbin or reel basket has been counted by one of the counters, the reciprocating guiding device is operated so as to decrease the width of the yarn or thread layers wound on the reel or bobbin and at the same time start the second counter which, after a predetermined number of revolutions, shuts off the reel basket drive.
