The method includes identifying a candidate wheel or wheel set, preparing the wheel or wheel set to receive new welding, performing a welding operation on the wheel/wheel set, and performing post-welding steps to ensure the re-manufactured wheel meets a defined profile standard. Preparing the wheel may include cleaning, grinding, and pre-heating one or more surfaces of the wheel.

Abstract: A device comprises a frame, a plurality of fingers, and an integrated slide hammer to drive a coupler onto a first pipe. The device may drive the coupler backwards onto a second pipe. The device may position the coupler for fusion without having to remove the device for the backward driving of the coupler. The device may be used above ground or in a trench.
