  • Patent number: 6661302
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for generating a control signal for compensating a temperature controlled crystal oscillator system for changes in an ambient temperature. The method includes the steps of providing a set of second-order coefficients relating ambient temperature to frequency drift over at least a portion of an operating temperature range of the temperature controlled crystal oscillator system and calculating a control signal for compensating the temperature controlled crystal oscillator system for the frequency drift due to the ambient temperature based upon the set of second-order coefficients.

  • Patent number: 6654005
Abstract: A joystick has a base and a cover mounted over the base. A stick has a first end extending from the cover and a second end. A gimbal has a first and second yoke that are coupled to the stick to allow the stick to move. The yokes each have a first and second end. A pair of wipers is mounted to the first ends of the yokes. A pair of resistors is positioned between the wipers and the base. The resistors are adapted to generate an electrical output signal indicative of a position of the stick when a voltage is applied to the resistors. Several terminals are mounted to the base. A first portion of the terminals are electrically connected to the resistors. A switch is positioned in the base below the second end of the first yoke. The switch is activated when the first yoke is sufficiently rotated so as to cause the second end of the first yoke to contact the switch and to close the switch.

  • Patent number: 6647811
Abstract: A seat belt tension sensor is attached to a seat belt in a vehicle. The seat belt tension sensor includes a housing attached between the vehicle and the seat belt. A limit structure is located in the housing. A sensor is attached to the limit structure for generating an electrical signal in response to the sensor being placed in tension. The electrical signal changes as a function of tension on the seat belt. The limit structure moves between a first position in which the limit structure transfers the seat belt tension to the sensor and a second position in which the limit structure transfers the seat belt tension to the housing.

  • Patent number: 6627993
Abstract: A semiconductor device has a lower metal layer, a lower dielectric layer on top of the lower metal layer, an upper metal layer on top of the lower dielectric layer, an upper dielectric layer on top of the upper metal layer, and a contact region formed as a cavity that extends through the upper dielectric layer, the upper metal layer and the lower dielectric layer for access to a solder pad portion of the lower metal layer. A dielectric lining layer lines a peripheral cavity-confining surface of the cavity, and is transverse to a plane of the lower metal layer. The dielectric lining layer isolates the upper metal layer from the lower metal layer while permitting access to the solder pad portion of the lower metal layer. An electrical contact fills the cavity, and enables external electrical connection with the lower metal layer.
