  • Patent number: 4714203
Abstract: A continuous output food processor is provided which includes a housing having an electric motor drive and a bowl mountable on the housing for enclosing a rotary food processing tool which is rotatable within the bowl by the motor drive. A removable cover adapted to be secured in position on the bowl has a feed tube forming a passageway for feeding food items into the bowl. A chute is positioned on the bowl which is adapted to direct food processed by the food processing tool out of the bowl into a larger external container. An inclined ramp is mounted on the bowl beneath the food processing tool, said ramp extends on a downward slope toward the chute for causing food processed by the rotary tool to be deposited on the ramp to slide down the ramp and out of the chute into an external container positioned under the chute. The chute is provided with an openable lid coupled to an electric motor drive control for automatically turning off the food processor whenever the lid is elevated.

  • Patent number: 4506836
Abstract: Dual actuating apparatus is provided for a food processor of the type having a motor with a working bowl, a motor-driven member in the bowl for receiving rotatable tools and with a removable cover positioned on the bowl during the operation which carries a feed tube for feeding food items to be processed into the bowl. An expanded feed tube protector has an outer sleeve which is adapted to be nested over the feed tube and this sleeve is associated with a captivated, movable food pusher which is mounted for movement within the sleeve. In accordance with the present invention the cover and the outer sleeve of the feed tube protector each carry a portion of a dual actuator cam, a first portion of the cam being mounted on the cover while the second portion is mounted on the outer sleeve of the feed tube protector. Previously the cam for depressing the actuator rod of the food processor was a one-piece unit mounted and extending downward from the outer sleeve of the feed tube protector.

  • Patent number: 4458848
Abstract: A horizontal disc-like tool head is detachably mounted on an upper coupling portion of an elongated hub, while a lower coupling portion of the hub is adapted to be coupled to and rotated by the tool drive shaft of a food processor. The tool head has a socket underneath it adapted to receive the upper coupling portion of the hub, which is inserted into this socket by motion in a horizontal, i.e. radial, direction parallel to the plane of the tool head, being held in the socket by a pair of detents. The elongated hollow hub includes a spring-loaded push rod or bolt lock in its bore which can be elevated into locking position between the detents and inserted into the socket to prevent the release of the socket from the hub during operation. This push rod includes a manual release button for withdrawing the push rod from the socket, thereby returning the detents to their original unlocked condition.

  • Patent number: 4448360
Abstract: A continuous output food processor has a bowl with a chute adapted to direct food processed by the food processor laterally out from the bowl. An inclined vibrating deck is mounted in the bowl below a food processing tool. This deck extends on a downward incline laterally out from the bowl through a chute. Food processed by the rotary tool becomes deposited on this vibrating deck and is guided and moved by the vibrating deck out from the bowl for discharge into a waiting container positioned under the outer end of the chute. The vibrating deck as well as the rotating food processing tool are driven by the electric motor drive of the food processor. The vibrating deck is driven by an eccentric coupled to such drive through a connecting rod coupled at its other end to a wrist pin mounted on the deck. The deck is provided with a plurality of pivot link mounts as spaced locations to facilitate the vibrating motion and stabilize the inclined orientation of this deck.

  • Patent number: 4406603
Abstract: Pasta extruder attachment for a food processor or the like having a base containing a motor and rotary tool drive, and the attachment including a housing for receiving a pasta mixture to be extruded. The housing carries means for cooperatively engaging an actuator means in the base. A barrel surrounding a feedscrew is positioned in the housing with an opening in the barrel aligned with an opening in the housing for receiving the pasta mixture. An extrusion die bearing a plurality of orifices is mounted on the discharge end of the barrel.

  • Patent number: 4369680
Abstract: A rotary slicing tool for a food processor has a horizontal disc-like member with an opening therein and a cutting blade positioned at an elevated location above the opening relative to the horizontal top surface of the disc-like member providing a cut having a thickness determined by the vertical elevation between the cutting blade and the horizontal top surface. A removable cover disc having the same general configuration and proportion as the disc-like member is mounted on the cutting member for changing the thickness of the slices as determined by the thickness of the cover disc. The cut of the rotary slicing tool may therefore be varied by using removable and replaceable cover discs of different thicknesses without necessitating the complete removal and replacement of the rotary tool in the food processor. Certain cover discs may include auxiliary blades for converting the slicing tool into a French fry slicer or Julienne slicer.
