Abstract: A cast metal automobile wheel with front and rear ends, an outer annular rim portion, a radially extending intermediate disc portion, a forwardly projecting central cone portion and annular series of circumferentially spaced circumferentially and radially extending wire spokes extending from the cone and disc portions to the rim portion; the spokes have radial inner ends releasably engaged in related radially outwardly disposed openings in the cone and disc portions and have spoke nuts on their radial outer ends releasably held between the rim portion and a clamp ring screw fastened to said rim portion; the rim portion and clamp ring have flat opposing annular surface; each of said annular opposing surfaces has circumferentially spaced radially extending nut seats opposing and closed by the other of said surfaces and in which related spoke nuts are engaged and captively retained.
