Abstract: A system for determining the alignment measurement of the foot and ankle is disclosed. The system uses data representative of a three dimensional scanned image of a patient's foot and ankle while the patient was applying weight on the foot. Next the system detects the three dimensional coordinates associated with at least three predetermined landmarks on the patent's foot in the scanned image. A ground plane is determined using the predetermined landmarks. A center of a talar dome is determined in the scanned data. An ankle offset lever arm id determined from the set of landmarks and center of the talar dome.

  • Publication number: 20170086766
Abstract: A system is disclosed for assessing or depicting the degree of bone fusion in an area. The system involves receiving three dimensional image data from a patient of a portion of a patient's body. Using the data, the scanned portion of the patient's body is reconstructed. The system permits a user to select a volume within the reconstructed volume which defines a volume of interest. The density of each voxel is detected within the volume of interest. An analysis is conducted on the voxel densities to determine the amount of fusion that has occurred, the higher the density in a prescribed area the greater the amount of fusion that has occurred. The system generates a depiction of the density.

  • Publication number: 20150208980
Abstract: An alignment frame for use in weight bearing imaging of a knee or knees, the alignment frame includes a base with a support extending upward from a base. A thigh positioner is attached to the support. The thigh positioner includes a panel portion for contact by a user's thigh, and an imaging portion located below the panel portion. The imaging portion is made from material that does not interfere with imaging transmissions, such as x-rays and MRI transmissions (e.g., made from x-ray compatible and/or MRI compatible materials). At least one foot alignment device is on the base. The foot alignment device includes at least one foot positioner with an inner wall and a toe wall, the inner wall extending medially away from the toe wall.
