Patent number: 7175142Abstract: A heat exchanger mounting bracket includes a frame mount bracket portion and a heat exchanger bracket portion. The heat exchanger bracket portion is mounted to the vehicle frame member by threading a fastener through a mounting aperture. A lower heat exchanger bracket slip fits into a slot in the heat exchanger bracket portion such that the heat exchanger is supported upon the shelf. An upper heat exchanger bracket includes an aperture which receives a post which extends from the heat exchanger bracket portion such that the heat exchanger is locked thereto.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2004Date of Patent: February 13, 2007Assignees: Custom Molders, Inc., Labelle-Suomela, Inc.Inventor: Daniel J. Patent number: 7077624Abstract: A vehicle cooling fan shroud includes a barrel portion which surrounds a cooling fan and is integrated with a substantially rectilinear shroud portion which surrounds a radiator. The barrel portion includes a first portion and a second portion pivotally attached to the first portion. By pivoting the second portion relative the first cylindrical portion and into the rectilinear shroud portion, the shape of the fan shroud is changed to assist insertion of the fan shroud into an engine compartment.Type: GrantFiled: February 12, 2004Date of Patent: July 18, 2006Assignees: Custom Molders, Inc., Labelle-Suomela, Inc.Inventor: Daniel J. Patent number: 6676371Abstract: A fan shroud includes a barrel portion which surrounds a cooling fan. The barrel portion includes a first cylindrical portion located within a second cylindrical portion about a cooling fan axis of rotation. A multiple of webs are located between the first and second cylindrical portions which strengthen the barrel portion to an extent that a relatively lightweight inexpensive plastic material may be utilized to form the fan shroud without reducing the strength thereof. The webs also provide a multiple of mounting points which may receive a bracket to retain the numerous cables, conduits, hoses, sensors and the like which must be arranged within an engine compartment.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2002Date of Patent: January 13, 2004Assignees: Custom Molders, Inc., Labelle-Suomela, Inc.Inventor: Daniel J. Patent number: 6675921Abstract: A radiator mounting bracket assembly includes a mounting bracket and a vibration isolator. The vibration isolator is mounted within an opening formed in the bracket to engage a mounting pin which extends from an upper surface of a radiator. The mounting bracket is preferably formed of a non-metallic material such as glass-filled polypropylene and a plurality of ribs in the upper surface of the mounting bracket increase the structural rigidity thereof. The vibration isolator is a substantially annular member which receives the mounting pin while providing a pad section to engage the upper surface of the radiator. A rigid, yet vibration isolating retention is thereby achieved.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2001Date of Patent: January 13, 2004Assignee: Custom Molders, Inc.Inventor: Daniel J. Brown

Patent number: 6189492Abstract: The invention disclosed herein provides an automotive fan shroud and method of making. The invention fan shroud includes an integral liquid reservoir at its left and right upper corners. The fan shroud has separate upper and lower halves formed by injection molding. The upper and lower halves have interengaging flanges for being assembled to each other to form a full fan shroud, thus simplifying assembly and subsequent servicing. The liquid reservoirs are initially formed with open tops that are closed by the insertion of a fixedly attached reservoir cover, each cover having a filler neck and a cap.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 1999Date of Patent: February 20, 2001Assignees: Custom Molder, Inc., LaBelle-Suomela, Inc.Inventor: Daniel J. Patent number: 5388307Abstract: The present invention comprises a shaft retaining collar and a knob adapted to receive and utilize the collar. The collar is integrally formed with a base portion having a protruding button extending outwardly in one direction and a pair of opposed spring fingers positioned opposite to the button. The collar is adapted to be assembled into a knob or other component to be mounted on a shaft and having an internal cavity sized to accept the collar. An internal, keyhole shaped aperture is formed in the central area of the collar. When so assembled within the knob, the collar may be moved from a first position in which a smaller diameter portion of the aperture straddles a groove formed in the shaft to secure the shaft against relative axial movement and a second position in which a larger diameter portion of the aperture is positioned to allow the shaft to be inserted or retracted.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 1993Date of Patent: February 14, 1995Assignee: Custom Molders, Inc.Inventor: James P.
