In response to receiving transmission information relating to a communication from a user terminal, the apparatus determines whether a relevant message containing triggering information has been sent to the user terminal, and sends an output to a telecommunications arrangement in the case that it determines that such a message has been sent. This output can be used to control or otherwise change the telecommunications arrangement.

Abstract: A method for delivering promotional content to a mobile device user is performed in response to a request from the mobile device user for promotional content pertaining to a specified subject. As part of the method, at least one keyword advertisement inventory including promotional content conventionally delivered via the Internet is accessed to identify promotional content for delivery to the mobile device user. Subsequently, the identified promotional content is reformatted for delivery to the mobile device user in one or more messages including at least one of text and multimedia objects.

In the advertising context, the elements are marketing messages so that each consumer is presented with a customized message flow. Abstract: A method of managing content format conversion for transmission of converted content to a mobile device includes retrieving initial content, which includes video content, having a first format over a data communications network. The retrieved initial content is analysed based on an identification of data delivery parameters relating to potential delivery of converted content and a determination is made as to whether or not the data delivery parameters meet predetermined criteria. The format of the initial content is converted to a second format only in response to a determination that the data delivery parameters meet the predetermined criteria. The converted content forms a message body of a message. A conversion management system configured to manage content format conversion for transmission of converted content to a mobile device, and a computer program for performing the method, are also provided.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for profiling recipients into recipient categories on the basis of responses to content items provided to users. The profiling is based on rankings that are assigned to the content items, recipient categories, links between the content items and links between the content items and recipient categories. In one embodiment the ranking of a given content item is calculated on the basis of rankings of other content items having a link to the given content item, together with the ranking of the link between the content items, while the ranking of a given respondent in respect of a given recipient category is calculated on the basis of rankings of content items and/or categories that have a link to that recipient category. The links between content items and to the recipient categories indicate a particular response, by the respondent, in respect of content items.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and system for characterizing recipients into recipient categories on the basis of responses to questions provided to users. The characterization is based on rankings that are assigned to the questions, recipient categories, links between the questions and links between the questions and recipient categories. Abstract: A system for generating a schedule for use in triggering transmission of message content in a telecommunications network is provided. The system comprises a store for storing profiles of a plurality of recipients, and a plurality of message delivery campaigns with one or more criteria. The campaigns to be executed in relation to a given inventory, which may relate to a predetermined time period, may be arranged into one or more campaign clusters. A suitable allocation method may be used individually for each of said plurality of campaign clusters to allocate, among the plurality of recipients, target recipients for each of the campaign clusters based on campaign criteria and the profiles. The allocation process may be repeated to obtain, for example as high a number of messages as possible with the network resources available without exceeding a predetermined maximum number of messages per any given recipient.

Abstract: In prior art methods of processing transactions, funds for any given transaction are typically designated for payment from a single account. Further, funds are often pre-paid into accounts associated with a subscription to a telecommunications network, reducing the funds that a user can allocate to the single account. This can cause the amount of funds available from the single account to be below that required to cover one or a series of transactions, leading to the problem that only transactions of a limited size or number can be effected for a given account balance. In embodiments of the present invention, a method of processing a transaction is provided in which, responsive to a request for a transaction, a plurality of accounts associated with a party to the transaction are identified, including at least one account associated with a subscription to a telecommunications network.
