    Abstract: An electrically insulated anchor device is described, comprising a rigid elongated metal sleeve including an external surface that leads from an open top end to a bottom end. A longitudinal internal bore is formed within the sleeve with a bore wall spaced from the external surface by a sleeve wall thickness dimension. An electrically insulative polymer insert with an external surface engages the bore wall within the sleeve. The insert further includes a fastener receiving bore defined by a fastener receiving wall spaced from the external insert surface by an insert wall thickness dimension. The sleeve wall thickness dimension is substantially greater than the insert wall thickness dimension.

    Abstract: A railroad crossing panel filler for attachment to a headed support member on a railroad crossing panel slab includes an elongated elastomeric filler body with a slab engaging surface formed along the body. A rail engaging surface is also formed along the filler body opposite the slab engaging surface. An elongated support member head receiving channel is formed within the filler body and extends along the length thereof between the slab engaging surface and the rail engaging surface. An elongated support member receiving slot extending along the length of the filler body and includes a first open end along the slab engaging surface and a second end opening into the enlarged support member head receiving channel. The support member head receiving channel and support member receiving slot are configured to releasably receive a headed panel support member to releasably mount the elastomeric filler body to the panel.

    Abstract: A road transportable concrete railroad long-line tie molding system is described in which a rigid horizontal metal stressing frame is assembled from transportable sub-frame segments. The sub-frame segments are releasably connected in axially aligned end-to-end relation, and include parallel longitudinal reaction members. In a preferred form, the sub-frame segments are convertible from inoperative transport conditions to extended operative conditions. Footings are provided along the stressing frame length to engage the sub-frame segments to releasably mount the sub-frame segments in axial alignment and stabilize the reaction members against lateral deflection during compressive loading. A plurality of conventional gang tie molds having upwardly open elongated mold cavities are releasably received in end-to-end alignment along the framework. A reinforcing wire anchor is provided on the sub-frame at the dead end of the framework and a tensioner is located at the live end of the framework.

    Abstract: An insert is described for attachment to a concrete railroad tie mold within an opening formed therein. The insert is adapted to releasably receive and position a railroad rail fastener with a head end positioned below the mold and an anchor part projecting into the mold. The insert includes an insert body including an outward peripheral edge surface shaped to fit within the formed first opening in the railroad tie mold, and an internal peripheral edge surface defining a fastener receiving opening, situated inwardly of the outward peripheral edge surface. The insert body further includes a top surface that is held in substantial coplanar relation to an adjacent mold bottom surface. A clip arrangement provided on the insert body functions to releasably secure the insert body to the mold with the top surface of the insert body being substantially coplanar with the bottom mold wall. An adapter may be provided on the mold to facilitate mounting and positioning of the insert on the mold.

    Abstract: A railroad tie 10 is described. The tie includes elongated side surfaces 23 with a plurality of ballast locking indentations 34 formed therein. The indentations converge from open upward ends 35 to reduced bottom ends 36. The configuration of the locking indentations at the bottom ends is such that the indentations will receive the maximum aggregate size within the ballast. The tie body, provided with the indentations, and relationship of the sides 23 to the indentations 34 is such that maximum resistance is offered by the tie to longitudinal movement of the tie in the ballast with respect to the tie length dimension.
