Patent number: 7188164Abstract: A method and system of network access security utilizes identifying the router devices in the network path or other such router devices as may be encountered in protecting a particular portion of the inter-networked system to determine the variation in ACL format and content with each ACL format being then analyzed to determine a paradigm set of packet fields common to all identified ACL formats in which each ACL is then re-written entry by entry to form a paradigm ACL corresponding as nearly as possible to the original ACL. The paradigm ACL for each non-homogenous network device is then merged with each other paradigm ACL to create a common paradigm ACL which can be distributed to each non-homogenous router device to provide common filtering across all of the routers.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2003Date of Patent: March 6, 2007Assignee: Cyber Operations, LLCInventor: James K. Publication number: 20050018971Abstract: An optical waveguide coupler can be adjusted in the field and can couple and redirect optical energy leaving a first optical waveguide oriented in a first position into a second optical waveguide oriented in second position different from the first position. The optical coupler can maximize the optical energy transfer between two optical waveguides, while minimizing any back reflection or other optical return losses. The optical coupler provides an automatic core-to-core alignment of optical waveguides in free space by using aspherically shaped lenses with predetermined prescriptions in combination with a reflecting device that is accurately positioned between the two lenses.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 22, 2004Publication date: January 27, 2005Applicant: Cyber Operations, LLCInventor: Lonnie Lindsey

Publication number: 20040054925Abstract: Protecting a host network from a flood-type denial of service attack by performing statistical analysis of data packets in the network. The statistical analysis comprises comparing evaluated items in the data packets to threshold values and detecting the attack when the statistical items exceed the threshold value. A countermeasure can be initiated to protect the host network from the attack.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2002Publication date: March 18, 2004Applicant: Cyber Operations, LLCInventors: James K. Publication number: 20030034905Abstract: Distributed compression of a data file can comprise a master server module for breaking the data file into data blocks and for transmitting the data blocks to worker server modules. A first worker server module can compress a first data block using a first compression algorithm, resulting in a first compressed data block. A second worker server module can compress the second data block using a second compression algorithm, resulting in a second compressed data block. The first and second compression algorithms can comprise the same algorithm or different algorithms. An archive module can save the first and second compressed data blocks in an archive file for storage or for transmission over a communication network. The worker server modules also can compress the respective data blocks using multiple compression algorithms and can choose the highest compressed result.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2002Publication date: February 20, 2003Applicant: Cyber Operations, LLCInventors: Richard N. Anton, James K. Etheridge, Dustin W. Sias, Robert G. Newland

Publication number: 20020180891Abstract: A composite analog video signal can be preconditioned by a preconditioning device that removes noise from the composite analog video signal. The preconditioning device can comprise a low-pass filter that removes noise from the composite analog video signal by passing frequencies of the composite analog video signal below about 6 MHz. A decoder can amplify the preconditioned composite analog video signal and can decode the amplified signal into digital component signals. A compression module can encode the digital component signals for transmission over a communication network. The compression module can encode to the digital component signals using an MPEG-1 or other compression standard.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 10, 2002Publication date: December 5, 2002Applicant: Cyber Operations, LLCInventor: Lonnie D. Publication number: 20020166063Abstract: Protecting a host network from a flood-type denial of service attack by passively collecting a data packet from data received by the host network, comparing information in the data packet to a signature of an attack type of the attack, and detecting the attack in response to a determination that the signature and the information comprise matching data. A defensive countermeasure can be initiated to protect the host network from the attack and to provide a pathway for an offensive countermeasure against a source of the attack.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2002Publication date: November 7, 2002Applicant: Cyber Operations, LLCInventors: John Paul Lachman, Mansi Hsieh

Publication number: 20020150123Abstract: A method for transmitting low bit rate multimedia content can include separately encoding corresponding audio and video packets that represent the multimedia content and generating a system media stream comprising the corresponding audio and video packets. A network communication rate indicating a bandwidth available for transmitting the system media stream can be compared to a media transmission rate indicating a bandwidth needed to transmit the system media stream. The media transmission rate can be adjusted upon on a determination that the media transmission rate is greater than the network communication rate. The system media stream then can be decoded and presented at a remote location.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 10, 2002Publication date: October 17, 2002Applicant: Cyber Operations, LLCInventor: Sookwang Ro
