  • Patent number: 8182274
Abstract: A power converter having a pivotable and receivable power plug has a housing, an adapter board, a power output unit and a plug. The adapter board and the power output unit are mounted inside the housing. The adapter board has two conducting strips and a grounding strip. Each conducting strip has a shaft holder formed by bending a free end of the conducting strip, and two metal pivot shafts formed on two opposite sides of the plug are pivotally and respectively mounted in the shaft holders. The plug has a ground plate having a first engagement portion formed thereon. The grounding strip has a second engagement portion formed therein in a pivoting path of the plug to engage the first engagement portion and position the plug when the plug is pivoted and protrudes beyond the housing. Accordingly, the power converter can have a pivotable and receivable plug with minimum parts.

  • Publication number: 20110195599
Abstract: A flat restorable cable has a cable body and two connectors. The cable body is wound to have a spirally wound form. The cable body is extended by pulling two ends of the cable, and restores back to the original spirally wound form once either end of the cable is released. The two connectors are securely mounted to respective ends of the cable body and used to respectively connect with two external compatible interfaces. As a result of less part required, compact size and thin thickness, the flat restorable cable addresses an inexpensive and portable solution to connect two electronic devices over a short distance.

  • Patent number: 7982339
Abstract: A controlling method of a battery mode of a UPS for an active PFC power supply has the following acts of monitoring the AC power source and determining whether the AC power source is terminated or not, wherein if a determining result is positive, the controlling method proceeds to next act, and switching to the battery mode and converting a DC power source of a battery to a square wave. The square wave has a period, and each half of the period is alternately constituted by at least two ON times and at least two OFF times, and each of the at least two OFF times is equal to or less than a hold-up time of the active PFC load having a hold-up time circuit. Therefore, the voltage of the bulk capacitor of the active PFC power supply under a discharge condition is not lower than the low threshold voltage, since the OFF time of the square wave signal will be kept equal to or less than the hold-up time.

  • Publication number: 20110095727
Abstract: A power-saving line interactive UPS has a power switch set, a low-frequency transformer, a full-bridge circuit, a main controller, a charge and discharge mode controller, a rechargeable battery and a high-frequency charging circuit. The high-frequency circuit is connected between an AC power input terminal and the rechargeable battery to convert the AC power into a DC power and charge the rechargeable battery. Therefore, when the AC power is normally supplied and the power capacity of the rechargeable battery is not full, the high-frequency charging circuit is activated to charge the rechargeable battery without charging the rechargeable battery through the low-frequency transformer and the full-bridge switching circuit, thereby effectively reducing overall power consumption.

  • Patent number: 7917781
Abstract: A universal series bus (USB) power supply has a DC power source, a USB power interface and a voltage modulation module. The USB power interface is for connecting to an electronic device that stores a default D+ voltage and a default D? voltage. The voltage modulation module connects to and outputs signals to the D+ and D? terminals of the USB power interface. If voltage levels of the output signals are not respectively identical to the default D+ and D? voltages, the voltage modulation module changes the voltage levels of the signals output to the D+ and D? terminals of the USB power interface until the voltage levels of the output signals are respectively identical to the default D+ and D? voltages. Therefore, the USB power supply may be applied to any kind of electronic device that is charged over a USB interface.

  • Patent number: 7911085
Abstract: The power saving uninterruptible power supply (UPS) has a first and second switches, an energy spared switch, a transformer, an automatic voltage regulator (AVR), a charger-and-inverter, a normal mode determination unit and an electric switch. When the utility power is stable, the first and second switches are connected together to supply the utility power to a load. At the time, the energy spared switch is physically disconnected with the utility power and the transformer and the AVR. Therefore, the transformer and AVR do not consume more energy of the utility power and the transforming efficiency of the UPS is increased.
