Patent number: 12160733Abstract: A power saving method for lower-power devices is disclosed. Unencrypted IoT packets are received from low-power sensors. An identity of a mobile device is registered and public keys are exchanged between an MQTT agent and the mobile device. An advanced encryption standard (AES) key is generated according to public and private keys of the MQTT agent and a public key of the mobile device and received IoT packets are encrypted using the AES key. The encrypted IoT packets are transmitted to an MQTT broker. The MQTT broker forward the encrypted IoT packets to the mobile device. The mobile device exchanges the AES key with the electronic device according to its own public key through the secure shell (SSH) mechanism. The mobile device decrypts the IoT packets through the AES key.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2022Date of Patent: December 3, 2024Assignee: CyberTAN Technology, Inc.Inventor: Cheng-Wei Hu

Patent number: 11477757Abstract: A method and a system for indoor positioning within a wireless mesh-type network can be applied where a plurality of access points are located in an indoor space. According to the method, any one access point of the plurality of access points receives a request for indoor positioning transmitted by a portable device, wherein the request comprises received signal strength indications (RSSIs) measured and collected by the portable device. The access point compares the measured and collected RSSIs of the request to RSSIs stored in a fingerprinting database to determine a fingerprinting position using a closest match method and the access point provides, to the portable device, the determined fingerprinting position.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2021Date of Patent: October 18, 2022Assignee: CyberTAN Technology, Inc.Inventor: Chien-Mu Chang

Patent number: 11258878Abstract: A method for providing a differentiation in terms of quality of service (QoS) for multiple tenants in a network, by a networking device receives a data packet from a transmitting tenant, and the networking device identifies the tenant and a priority class of the received packet. The networking device then determines one or more color markers to apply to the received packet according to the sending tenant and the priority to be associated with the packet. The networking device then transmits or does not transmit the packet onwards depending on one or more color markers applied to the packet.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 2019Date of Patent: February 22, 2022Assignees: CyberTAN Technology, Inc., National Chung Cheng UniversityInventors: Shi-Wei Lee, Chun-Yi Chen, Chung-Ho Wu, Wei-Ning Chang, Poyu Liu

Patent number: 10805206Abstract: A method for rerouting traffic by a switch in a software defined networking (SDN) arrangement comprises an additional switch, multiple routing paths between the original switch and the additional switch being preconfigured by a SDN controller. The original switch collects network statistics by transmitting monitoring packets on each of the multiple routing paths and then calculating a round-trip time (RTT) value for each path on the return of the monitoring packets to the additional switch, the two switches functioning together as local controllers. After collection of network statistics from all the multiple routing paths, the original switch selects the routing path with the smallest RTT value and reroutes traffic accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2019Date of Patent: October 13, 2020Assignees: CyberTAN Technology, Inc., National Chung Cheng UniversityInventors: Poyu Liu, Wei-Ning Chang, Chung-Ho Wu, Shi-Wei Lee, Ting-Shan Wong
