Abstract: The present invention relates to a travel guide system using a personal portable terminal, and more particularly, a travel guide system using a personal portable terminal including: an integrated circuit (IC) chip attached to each of a plurality of stores, the IC chip including an identification code peculiar to each store; and the personal portable terminal receiving a signal from a plurality of global positioning system (GPS) satellites and showing a present position thereof, the personal portable terminal providing detail information about each store mapped to the identification code obtained through a near field communication with the IC chip.
