Abstract: A vineyard trellis system that includes a ground anchored upright post, at least one foliage wire passing by the post and having a supporting interengagement with the post, and lifting means arranged to effect a lifting or lowering of the wire in relation to the post where said lifting means include a support member slidably engaging with the post and engaging with the foliage wire, and a winch arrangement adapted to assist in a lifting or lowering of the support member to effect a change in height of the foliage wire with respect to the post.
