Patents Assigned to Cytonix LLC
  • Patent number: 8795779
Abstract: A system and method is shown for coating an article, including a chamber that can be at least partially open to surrounding air to allow free flow of air through the chamber and recovery of vapor produced during a coating operation within the chamber. The chamber can include a support surface that is adapted to support the article during a coating process, and a coating device within the chamber can be adapted to selectively apply a coating of a fluorocarbon in a fluorinated solvent to at least a portion of an article supported on the support surface.

  • Publication number: 20120214893
Abstract: Hydrophobic coating compositions are provided as are processes to coat articles with the compositions. Extremely hydrophobic coatings are provided by the compositions. Durable, weatherable and scratch-resistant coatings are provided by compositions comprising a fluorinated component and an adhesion promoter compound. The adhesion promoter compound can include an alkoxy group, a furfuryl-containing ring structure, and a reactive group.

  • Patent number: 8168264
Abstract: Methods of forming a surface coating are provided. A first component can be applied to a surface and can include at least one adhesion promoter compound. The adhesion promoter compound can include (i) a furfuryl ring structure, (ii) a polymerizable reactive group, and (iii) an alkyloxy moiety linking the furfuryl ring structure to the polymerizable reactive group. A second component can be applied to the surface after the first component is applied to the surface, and the second component can include at least one fluorinated component including from about one to about 100 carbon atoms. The polymerizable reactive group can be polymerized to form a coating on the surface and the first component can improve adhesion of the second component to the surface.
