    Abstract: In a data recording/reproducing device, data files recorded on a recording medium are assigned, in an order of newer recording start times, from a small-numbered numeric button (204) of a remote controller (113), and are stored as a button mapping table (115). When an indication that any of the numeric buttons (204) has been pressed is accepted through the remote controller (113), a data file, which is stored in the button mapping table (115) in association with the number of the numeric button accepted, is reproduced.
